Like they did with Halo 3, get queued with people of the same skill rank, people who want to go further go to 50.
There are different ways to do it for different people and some people will end up being happy and some people will not. It’s just the nature of development and the current system benefits the most people
They have a perfect game mode for you my friend. They’re called Bot Matches. Where not only do you get a team full of people to socialize with. You have target enemies that you can actually compete with.
Now you don’t have to feel bad when the freshest of installs destroys you any more in social.
What evidence do you have that the bleed is not the normal bleed that happens to a game post launch? Any system is going to have it’s faults, and by the looks of it they are looking to patch many of the issues people are talking about. Is the current system perfect? Definitely not, as I have posted about in this thread before and in other locations on the forum. But this system ultimately benefits people who casually play at lower levels or higher levels. Casual doesn’t mean I want to be absolutely stomped by a 1800 Onyx testing new ranked strats when I just want to run around with an AR. Casual means that we, as a group of low bronze, high gold, and high Onyx want to just do what we do. Onyx will compete harder in their ranks, low bronze will run around learning the game. SBMM benefits the most people, not just the people with the loudest voices wanting to be randomly matched thinking that will improve the chances of having fun.
I am also saying that this system should be fixed further. It isn’t perfect. Nothing is. Should your casual MMR be loosely based on your Ranked MMR? Definitely. Just because I play Ranked only and use Casual solely as a testing ground doesn’t mean I get to play in Low Bronze as a Plat or Diamond. Whatever you are in Ranked should be loosely influencing your Casual Play. The people who want to play competitively should play Ranked, as it is the more competitive game mode. If people like how Casual plays, then they like how Casual play. And they will gain more skill in the Casual playlists. And be placed according to their hidden MMR in that playlist. If you want Casual to be a more “Social Playground” then we need more Ranked Playlists for that to happen. Ranked Arena could be that Ranked outlet for those who like AR starts and we could have another Ranked list for Ranked BRs that is essentially the same but with BR starts instead. There are a lot of things to consider when changing a system and I don’t think removing SBMM is plausible in the current playlist set and actually benefits everyone
Again, asserting things without evidence. Halo 2 and Halo 3 did not use SBMM in social and were better at retaining players than this game will ever be. Reach didn’t use SBMM anywhere and retained players better than this game ever will. Halo 5 used SBMM everywhere and died within about two years.
You are literally asserting facts that haven’t even happened yet. SBMM is not a solely Halo thing, it is present across many games. It’s possible that SBMM in Halo 5 didn’t work because it needed adjusting that never happened or didn’t happen quick enough. Again, everything is always in progress, nothing is ever finished, and nothing is ever in it’s absolute state. How about instead of just slandering something you provide some evidence on how to fix the current system instead of just saying it will fail.
This is not enough proof for me to be on your side in this discussion. I would be glad to hear what types of changes you think can be made to make this happen. (Also in progress of going back to read your other posts to see your stance)
Uh… what? This has already happened. Peak concurrent player counts already down 75% from launch based on Steam numbers. That might not be quite as bad on Xbox, but probably follows a similar trend given how large a sample size that represents.
Anything that doesn’t align with their narrative is apparently an act of fiction or fantasy, it simply is never true. Even if it’s the most basic form of common sense… The responces feel like this video of Riker from Star Trek just saying everythings fake for minutes lol.
The question specifically was, are you aware or not that this drop in players could be considered normal for many games? Master Chief Collection shares the same data on Steam. You can look at a number of multiplayer games and say that their peak was higher than their current, but that doesn’t mean anything. You have to look at change over a period of time where it would be normal for players to be playing. And only a month into release doesn’t give enough data. I want a more convincing argument than that.

A graph in this article specifically shows that launch day, Halo 3 was at a high, and then fell the same amount that Halo Infinite did, over the same amount of time. But that doesn’t determine that Halo Infinite and Halo 3 are going to end up the same in popularity by the end of the game’s life cycle.
No, the question originally was what evidence do you have for arguing that SBMM benefits the most players?
Still waiting on that. You began with that assertion and I am challenging it. And I am suggesting that the player trends do not support your assertion at all.
And I am arguing that your point about player trends is improper evidence to use in the first month of the game’s lifecycle. I am responding to your assertion that player trend matters here, which it doesn’t.
The point of saying SBMM benefits most players is that there are people out there who play games as an escape and to have fun. When they play to have fun, goof around, and generally not do as well, they do not get better in the SBMM system’s eyes, so they are placed with lower players. The players down there are now competing on the same level. Now, does that happen in Halo Infinite? I am not saying that it does. The idea of SBMM benefits most players. Now, it is 343’s job to prove that, and create a system in which this is true. Like I have said multiple times, the system still needs improvement. You are thinking that I am saying 343 has made a perfect system, which it has not. But SBMM is the superior system to having people be absolutely wrecked every match, which is a primitive system in comparison to SBMM since they had not created SBMM yet.
It benefits the most players under the same conditions, yes, every match will be painfully balanced or fair than without, but if a diamond player picks up a bronzie, because they’re friends who want to play together, the grouped players will ALWAYS be at a disadvantage for every game until they stop playing together.
