Can people join Spartan companies in game?

No but they SHOULD be able to!

Indeed, spartan companies need to be intergrated into the game more. At the moment all they are in game is a name under your gamertag, everything else is on the waypoint website…

You have to sent an e-mail request to the company you are interested in and be accepted.

in Halo 2 you could do that then in halo 3 they took them away completely and now in halo 5 you can join one again but just not in game…
