In theory getting objective medals really shouldn’t be a huge issue you’d think, but the “Objective Results” challenge where you need 10 objective medals, half the time it seems it doesn’t actually track your medals depending on the game you’re playing at least for me. The only games/modes I’m actually able to get any consistent progress is H2A and Halo 4 and sometimes Invasion, all the other games just for some reason don’t want to track when it feels like it should or it will for really specific things so it just becomes a chore. I usually tend not to do the challenge as I don’t even usually play objective modes much at least solo.
I know the newer games have more medals relating to objectives but part of me also want’s to say this challenge is bugged as just at random points it seems like it doesn’t want to track and I always seem to have an issue with it, does anyone else get this problem or am I just a special case?
EDIT: I’ve played 10 total games consisting of King of the Hill, CTF, and Territories, and all the game has done is balance me against the sweatiest groups around where as my team is mostly new players (I checked) and the total amount of medals I’ve gotten is 5. This challenge straight up sucks and needs to be removed or fixed because it’s not tracking and I saw in my last game of Halo 4 I got a hill kill medal and it didn’t count.
That’s so weird that it’s not counting for you, and yeah I agree they should fix it by adding more objective medals that count for it since there are some objective medals that don’t even count like flag champion. The best way I found to get this is Halo CE, 2, 2A, and 4 KOTH but I’ve also had times where I match against sweats trying to get this challenge so I feel like they should reduce it from 10 medals to 7 or 5.
Ya I usually find KOTH is one of the better modes to do if you can get hill kills/defenses but I find that I get more consistent medals in H2A and Halo 4 (when they want to count). The biggest thing yesterday though was with the team matchups, that alone was making it really hard to get the medals, as pretty much every team I got were mostly new players and/or would leave while pairing me against sweats so sometimes even touching the hill just wasn’t doable at points.
I eventually got to 7 medals after like 3 hours of grinding for games and after a point I just started messaging the sweaty teams I’d pair against if I could join for a few matches just so I could get 3 medals. I got the rest within two matches after a team did invite me (technically one as the first one was a slayer match).
When I used to do my decks every week I would usually pick up a few medals in invasion while I worked on the ranked wins. I still think the medals should be broadened and H3 should have countable KOH medals. If I pick up 3 to 6 in invasion on a week, I try to pick up the rest of them in H2A or H4 KOH, territories or extraction. I have had games where they don’t track right as well, the challenge is annoying some weeks but it can be done.
I don’t think they should remove the challenge, granted I do dislike it also as I don’t enjoy objective, but what they need to do is make more objective medals count for the challenge… Like the ball carry time medals, hill time medals, stuff like that… There just are plenty of objective medals that should count.
Yeah BUT A LOT more medals count AND they updated H3 for it’s medals to be on par with all the the other games. Getting 25 objective medals really isn’t bad since so many medals count now.
It was hard enough for me to complete it when it was 10, and some weeks I didn’t manage to. More medals count now, which is nice, but I’m not sure that fully balances the fact that it’s 25 now. Seems like it’s just as hard to complete.
I got it in 4 or 5 games so it seems ok for a challenge to me. I play FFA objective so it maybe a bit easier to get medals since you don’t have competition from teammates and what not.
