Been having this issue on console for about a week.
Seems slightly better as of yesterday, but not 100% consistent.
P.S. nice to see one of the Gears 5 PVE masters here

Haven’t played PvP for a while since I was busy with the campaign so I didn’t notice the issues from last week.

Same, even after they’ve supposedly fixed it.
Sent a ticket in regards to this and they’ve responded with along the lines of “we don’t know when this issue will be resolved but we’ll keep you posted and if you happen to find a workaround to that problem, let us know.”
So yeah, no BTB for me I guess until they get around to fixing the issue, if ever. And god forbid if I get a BTB challenge in the meantime…
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I myself am on PC (Gamepass)
Had the same issue here. Open the Ports on your router that Infinite uses. Fixed my problem
Ports:
TCP: 3074
UDP: 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500
