Can I Get What I Paid For, Please?

This August update is absurd, and I don’t see how 343 can justify taking away things myself and others paid money for. I paid for the Anniversary map pack because it was advertised as an opportunity to play maps I love on Halo: Reach settings. Sure, you can say that Anniversary Classic is a way to play the maps, but that’s not really Reach, it’s intentionally a different game, or mode, whatever you want to call it. Furthermore, had I known that’s the only way I would get to play them, I wouldn’t have purchased them because I don’t like the Anniversary settings at all. And please don’t tell me the maps can be played in the non-Anniv playlists, I’ve been playing since the maps came out and gotten them on non-Anniv playlists all of two times, maybe three. So, as you might have guessed, the purpose of this thread is to try to get what I paid for and reunite Anniv maps with TU/Reach settings

343’s justification for the update kills me, too. At peak hours, you’re putting a maximum of 2,000 people into other playlists by removing Anniv BTB and FFA. What does that do?! Nothing! It’s already ridiculously easy to find a match in normal BTB and Rumble Pit. This has never been a problem, nor will it be for the next few months (and longer for BTB at least). There’s always people in those playlists, so what is the purpose of this “streamlining” process you’re going on about. All you’re doing is taking away something an admittedly small group of people really enjoyed. That’s literally all you’ve accomplished, because people are going to find matches in the non-Anniv playlists at the EXACT same rate they always have. I don’t get it.

But, rather than complain the whole time, how about some solutions?

Option 1. Make the Anniv maps free, and make them required for matchmaking. This might make people angry that paid for them within the last year, but at least it will give us the ability to actually play them in matchmaking (i.e get what we paid for!!). This would also improve these playlists ten fold by giving us better maps and probably bring back a lot of interest in Reach. I’d love to play more Team Snipers on Damnation and more Objective on Beaver Creek. It seems like a pretty big win-win to me. Do others agree?

Option 2. Bring back the TU 4v4 Anniv playlist (formerly known as Anniv Squad, if I recall). That would give us SOME way of playing Anniv on TU/Reach settings, and 4v4 is the most popular way to play Halo so it would make sense. I know it wasn’t the most popular playlist in its day but what’s important is honoring our purchases in some way, shape or form. What could it hurt?

So, 343, if you actually listen to the people that give you money and time (and not just your statistics), I urge you to be faithful to our purchases and bring back TU and Anniversary maps together in at least ONE playlist. Please?

I’ve only posted here a couple a times and never figured I’d come back. But when I found out that they did away with what I consider great maps I was more than pissed. I thought I bought those maps. This is making me reconsider purchasing Halo 4. If they can sell me something and then take it away that easy, then why bother. I’m not a great player…I play for fun. Now I get to play maps that are nothing more than kill-fest’s.

This would require 2 things.

 1. That 343i actually listen to the people that ACTUALLY pay them. Something they SAY they, but clearly DO NOT.

 2. That 343i actually give a -Yoink- about the people that pay them. Something NO company in corporate America clearly CANNOT do/

I agree. We NEED a few DLC only playlists, since it’s next to impossible to play on new maps in the standard playlists.

I know how you feel, then I had best not pull this stunt again because it’s a slap in the face for all the fans like myself who buy all their stuff. Seriously wtf was they thinking!

They best return it soon. Dlc only playlist, get rid of the stupid forge crap. Forge games should stick to frigging custom games only ffs!

What would people think about making Anniv maps free and required for (almost?) all playlists?

Great post.

They really need to get rid of forge maps completly, bring back the ranked/social playlists, make sure that people in ranked playlists are forced to have dlc because a lot of us miss playing dlc maps, this update was the worst thing 343i has done. Its not going to look good for them if try the same stunt with halo 4.

Option 1: Not gonna happen. The Anniversary Map Packs has Achievements binded to them and because of that, Microsoft will not give them away for free. They have been discounted before but people still refuse. People just have to accept that not everyone wants or can afford the maps.

Option 2: Personally I want Anniversary BTB since it’s the only thing I played. Now I’m just campaign boosting all the way to Inheritor. If 343 is trying to give the impression they don’t want you playing Matchmaking well shoot…worked on me.

Know exactly how you feel since want a bit variety since Inheritor is a mindless grind, playing nothing but forge maps is horrible since there horrible to look at, insulting to people who made the AAA quality maps that we bought with the game but instead we get horrible forge maps. I know I shouldn’t rant on about this but I wouldn’t need to if I hadn’t been robbed of my online content that I paid to play online which I’ll barely see thanks to 343i…

Feedback is feedback my friend, it isn’t always positive. If 343 wants feedback they’ve got to take the bad with the good, much like everything about Reach the fan reaction has been mixed to negative.

Feedback? Sorry but if halo 4 is nothing but forge maps then whats the point in making all the map packs? WTF! I, many others have recently noticed we was ignored, if 343 noticed the amount of angry threads lately then they might want to recheck their ‘feedback’ since a lot are pissed off.

Ah okay, I didn’t realize that, achievements are way off my radar. Lame. :frowning:

Exactly because that’s another set of people they have ignored.
I thankfully have every achievement but removing the playlists have made it harder for people, just turned the playlists more into mindless grinds since all we see is forge maps.

Believe me, I agree. I won’t be pleased at all if 343 just plans on giving out a crapload of Forge World like maps. It wouldn’t be as bad if the maps weren’t boring wastes of space but all I see right now is horrible textures and grey boringness in Reach. :I

Yep I’m getting tired of them, there’s nothing interesting about seeing them frequently. It’s bad enough that see it 24/7 when playing custom but being forced to see mostly forge maps on every single playlist is just taking the piss.

I know 343/Bungie thought it was clever to make forge in halo 3 but all halo 3/reach has become is nothing but foge maps to the point where it has got pretty stupid.

Also the textures are horrible, borrying to be constantly looking at which is why I love my default maps, dlc maps. Everytime I see a forge map for the 5th time in a row it makes me want to rage quit, go offline from halo for several weeks.
