Alright, it’s time to humble myself. I played a lot of Halo and all the different multiplayer offerings. I’m pretty decent at most of them except Halo 3. I’ve tried for over 13 years and it’s official, I just suck at Halo 3. With MCC bringing more players in recently, especially Halo 3 fans, this has become more glaringly obvious.
Could I get some general tips to help improve my basics in Halo 3? The BR is completely different than all the other games. I understand I’m supposed to lead my shots but don’t know how. Especially with Halo 2 and 4 reinforcing I just keep my reticle on their head for 4 shots. Any input to help my improve my gameplay basics is greatly appreciated. I want to practice and actually enjoy Halo 3 finally.
Yup. I feel you mate. Like you, been playing Halo for years and Halo 3 multiplayer still just doesn’t feel right to me. Personally the weapons have always lacked that “umph”. The BR in H3 is just so different. And each game is mostly just a BR fest, it’s hard to readjust your play style after a few games of H2A or H4. And with the recent influx of new older players I too have felt myself getting worse on H3.
My advice though for the BR. Aim for the body until the shields drop. Chest area. First bullet is always accurate, then the two other go in other directions so you may as well aim for the place with the most chances of landing. Also the grenades need to be lobbed a bit higher than you may think. I’ve always found the throwing arc to be different to the other ones. The AR is crap in all bit up close so I try to get rid of it ASAP. And stay out of competitive H3. You want to get better, not be f@€ked over and isn’t the place to get some confidence. MCC file share doesn’t work for videos, at least for me. It would be best if you captured the entire match and then posted it on youtube. Pick a match where you thought you played decently.
