Can I get the FOTUS armor without buying the console?

You’re thinking of the preorder bonuses. 343 has stated they want the LE and console to have their exclusive SKU content to remain exclusive

As of now FOTUS is just with the console. However, they will most likely make it avaliable to all other players who don’t get the console later on in the game, this has happened in the past so I presume it will happen here.

what? Halo 3 didnt exactly come with DLC, same with 2 and CE. Reach’s console came with the limitied edition material (which stayed exclusive to both) and reach’s legendary exlusive fire helmet stayed exclusive.

I was just going off of the sticky thread of the armor pre-order exclusives. It mentioned that at some point 343 was thinking about letting everyone get the preorder bonuses (I assume LE and the console are in this category).

Don’t assume, because LE and Console exclusives are separate from preorder bonuses.

I believe it was in a weekly update, but the wording is along the lines of “There’s nothing to say these things won’t become available to all in the future, but for now they exclusives are just that.”
I could look it up, but I just don’t want to. I’m confident it will be found if you look.
It might end up being something like Recon. But as of right now, the only KNOWN way is to buy the console

Honestly, I hope the le and console exclusives stay that way and exclusive. I don’t mind if the pre-order bonuses end up being released to everyone because it’s a little impossible for anyone to get them all, considering the large lineup of stores offering them.

That’s talking about the skins you get when you pre-order at retailers, such as WEB, FOREST, etc.
The armor is exclusive to whichever bundle it comes in.

They were referring to the preorder bonuses (or most likely the case.)

I honestly hope that they are available at some point. It is not like you unlock these armor sets by achieving anything, just by throwing money at the game. This is especially the case with the FOTUS armor, where most people won’t get it because $400 is too much for a console (that you can get for $200) and the next Xbox is coming out in the next year or two. I personally thought that while the console was cool, I couldn’t justify spending the money on two new controllers (I have 5 old ones) and a marked up version of the Slim.
I’m guessing they won’t be giving it out, at least for not a while. They would like you to buy the console.
