I hope, regarding multiplayer we can choose to have no AI. Shouldn’t be forced to use one.
I imagine there’s going to be an option to only use the traditional Halo announcer in multiplayer, unless if 343 decides they want more backlash and go the Warzone route again.
There’s no reason not to use one. It’s just another announcer for smalling things like, idk, a point lead.
I’m sure there will be a setting to adjust their volume or something though

The AI and the traditional announcer don’t step on each other’s toes. It’s not a replacement, it simply announces smaller scale things and will give you certain pointers during the match.
No information yet, but I assume not selecting an A.I. (and potentially having just the default one if we are given one right away) will be the equivalent of not having an A.I.

Yes, there is.
I don’t want to. That simple.
Its all about choice.

Fair enough lmao

Okay? That doesn’t change my point. I doubt that 343 is going to force anyone to use an additional voice if they only want to hear Jeff Steitzer do his thing. Announcing to the player what weapons they’ve just picked up and which vehicles are being put on the map don’t seem like things that would break gameplay if turned off.

My thing with it is, small useless things like “skewer acquired”. The more obvious ones. Why do I need an AI telling me to run a flag back to base lol. I hope there’s an option to turn it off, but if not I assume it’s something that I could also get used to.
Maybe there is the ‘Traditional’ AI? Or a mute one?

You might not need to, but someone who’s never heard of Halo or never played before would want and need that. Not everyone knows what Capture The Flag is and what it entails, most people who don’t play Halo have no idea what “slayer” or “Assault” is. It’s helpful in that regard, and if the AI will announce to your whole team when a teammate picks up a power weapon, that’s useful information too.
Don’t forget that Halo Infinite is being made with noobs in mind. That being said, for veteran players who want absolute silence on the battlefield, Having volume control on the AI would be nice.

Goosebumps thinking about how many newcomers we’ll have. It’s a great feeling tbh.

I never said it would break gameplay, I simply said the AI announcer and Jeff have different announcer roles, with Jeff having his normal role and the new AI being helpful for new players and players like myself who appreciate any extra information during my matches. I also never stated that it would be bad or incorrect to have volume control or a toggle, I think that would be nice for people who do not want that.

I never said you said those things, I was just clarifying what my point was.
Personal AIs are a fine mechanic for new players and for Halo veterans who like having additional information announced to them. I’d just prefer to not have my multi-kill medal announcements broken by a voice I have no option to turn off saying something stupid like “LOOK IN THE SKY, THERE’S GOING TO BE IN A BANSHEE DROPPED ON THE MAP IN TEN SECONDS”. That’s all!

To my knowledge, Personal AI are not going to be announcing medals, but yeah I can understand where you’re coming from.

Yeah I’m hoping they’re random drops and also hoping they won’t be quick to where people can see when and where they drop in so people have the chance to fight for the vehicles if turning off the AI is a possibility.
My guess is that you won’t be able to play without an AI, you will probably be asked to make one when you start the game up Or be given a default one. But you will almost certainly be given the option to mute it if you don’t want the dialog (obviously the avatar will still appear when it’s supposed to).
I hope we can choose to have no AI, I personally will use it, but I know some people would just want the classic Jeff Steitzer for everything and I don’t blame them! I also hope we can have AI voices that already exist like the superintendent, Cortana, Serina, and Isabel.
The new AI announcer conflicts with the traditional, iconic announcer that Halo has had forever. I’m not sure why they decided to add another one. Hopefully they allow us to turn the new announcer off.
Considering what I’ve seen thus far, I think the AI might be somewhat too integral to outright remove from the game at this stage. The AI will also play a role in BTB as well. I think the best option actually is just an option the mute or lessen what the AI says. I myself would like an option to mute the AI or only have the AI give me important information.
