I’d love to see something like SWBFll’s space combat, but in Halo. How cool would it be to have these massive space battles with Sabers vs Seraphs, Gunship Pelicans vs Phantom Gunboats, space Banshees vs Sparrowhawks, Vultures vs Vampires, and so on.
Wouldn’t it be cool to board a UNSC/Covenant ship to deliver a bomb or sabotage the weapons, life support, and shields and all that?
Maybe I’m alone on this, but I think it would be a cool feature.
Just saying, a space battle between an Type-27 XMF and an AV-22 probably wouldn’t happen owing to the fact that the Sparrowhawk is propelled by large fans and a turbojet… which wouldn’t work in space.

Didn’t the Infinity fight Sparrowhawks and Vultures in Escalation? The laws of physics don’t matter in Halo. If they did, Chief would’ve died at the beginning of Halo 3, Six halfway through Reach, and I think Jerome about halfway through Halo Wars 2.
Plus the Spartan Laser, which fires light, has recoil AND the light passes through solid objects.

shrugs I suppose you’re right. Don’t really remember if Sparrowhawks were used against Infinity, so, maybe.

Not by, against. But I’m glad you agree. I think the UNSC stopped using Hawks because of combat losses.
They could always bring them back because simulations. Same with Vultures.
I would LOVE to see this in a spin off where you play as marines and ODST’s. Honestly they could make some cool maps out new Mombasa in the urban city or in the Sahara. Then have some maps on a halo or another colony. It’d be cool if you could board cruisers too after a space battle but maybe I’m getting ahead of myself. Overall I think a battlefield/ battlefront halo would be gritty and immersive. Although I don’t now how likely seeing something like this could be unfortunately.
I would prefer the Halo Reach Long Night Of Solace type or World Of Warships but Covenant vs UNSC Ships and other people controlling the other ships(Pelicans,Phantoms etc.) and 1 Captain (You or your teammates)per ship who will have the Archer Missiles/Plasma Missiles and whatever a ship has and having 3-5 ships per fleet which is the team.That would be a great gameode.
A lot of potential could be had for Halo and space battles or even atmospheric battles, whether it’s small craft battles such as fighters, shortswords, longswords, against banshees, seraphs, and other attack/bombing aircraft. There could also be large fleet battles with the typical makeup of each faction. You could even add in forerunner or flood-infected ones too.
All of this makes me think of the mod for Sins of a Solar Empire called Sins of the Prophets.
Either a standalone game or a game mode like geared towards air and space battles on any scale and with whatever craft would be awesome. A campaign for a game could be about any number of engagements, follow any number of characters, or follow the post-Halo 3 timeline. Just thinking out loud here.
Wasn’t this an idea for halo reach if im not mistaken? either way this would be awesome. just flying a pelican into the hanger of a covenant cruiser and have people spawn there and take out important systems.
