is this possible any more?
I know so much about the game I’m getting already. I know the world it’s being set in, I know a sizeable enough amount about the plot. Most game modes it’s launching with, the customization options, and gameplay mechanic changes. Yet everyone keeps wanting more, and as far as I’m concerned, More than we already have means 343 may as well just personally deliver the game to our door and do our housework too while they’re at it.
When does it end? What can 343 possibly keep secret without risking a full scale revolt by the community? A lot of the community have been speculating what surprises we may get in halo 5, but from the way I see it. We’re not about to get any at this rate.
We know so much about the plot already?
I kinda figured we knew how the game was going to open up and that was it - I didn’t think we had the a sizeable amount of the story already down.
Plot-wise, we actually don’t know as much as it seems. We know the very early plot. We know Osiris’ ultimate goal in hunting chief. But we know little to nothing about Blue Teams goals, and almost zilch about the Guardians and the role of the Warden and Prometheans in Halo 5. All that Forerunner stuff being left in the dark technically is the larger overhanging plot of the game. And we know nothing about it.
As far as multiplayer and mechanics/features is concerned, its actually better that they show it off. Not the kind of thing you keep secrets about too much. And we’ve only seen a small, small amount of customization. I think we’re fine.
Also. It’s up to fans to avert their eyes if they really want all the surprises. I know that’s hard to do on the internet, but when you see a video in your sub box that says 4 minutes of campaign gameplay, its up to you to simply not click on it. And coming around on forums knowing people will talk about that stuff won’t help either.
Outside of rather broad “brush-strokes”, I don’t think we know much about the campaign narrative at all.
343i seem to have done a very good job of remaining tight lipped about the narrative itself. There has been a huge amount of speculation, notibly 343i has stated that the plot has been guessed somewhere on these forums - at least something that is very close to the plot.
Granted, we do know a fair amount regarding the game mechanics, but that doesn’t equate to there being no secrets left.
Personally I’m very happy with this situation (I also have no problem with anything that has been added to the game) and I’m waiting for 27/09/2015 to roll round to get into the campaign.

I’ll definitely look into that. I definitely feel modern games are giving away way too much nowadays.

Kamchatka
Garudian disturbances
Fight with Jul M’dama
get halsey
Chase chief for reasons
Chief is cleared for something
they travel across worlds to find chief during guardian disturbances
Sanghelios civil war
Master chief is hallucinating or following some sortof protocol in the shape of Cortana
Blue team and Osiris Meet up
Come into conflict inside some sort of complex.
Locke and Chief get into fisticuffs
Honestly that’s a lot to me.
Of course, I’m not saying you’re wrong for liking what you like, but I feel this is another way how choice manifests into unhappiness. We as the audience have the power to squeeze more and more out of developers, then we complain we aren’t surprised or excited when we finally get the game.
Team Osiris Hunts Chief,
Chief meets Osiris- Chief Wins
Chief discovers some sort of mysterious secret.
Chief Does battle with many adversaries, Chief Wins.
New Threat Unveiled, Setup Halo 6 plot, ready for Chief to win again game ends.

How much you know about the game is mostly your fault. No one forces you to read and watch all the stuff about the games. After they released the opening scene and I watched it I do feel the same way as you. I am trying to stay away from more videos about the game and what not. I think they are releasing a lot about H5 just to really try and hype it up. Especially after the monster botch MCC.
Well, in the age of the internet with hordes of obsessed fans trying to glean any hint of information about the next game they’re interested in, in addition of the ease of leaking/spoiling games before launch (every person is now carrying a HD camera in their pocket on their phone), it’s not surprising that keeping a game a genuine mystery until launch is damn near impossible.

I agree it’s mostly my fault, but it began to really weigh on me. My hype is real, don’t get me wrong, and I’ve always supported the Halo franchise with what little I have. But it really begun to feel like they were giving us the game. I wouldn’t mind if Halo 6 just plopped out, released, out of nowhere. Then no one will even have time to pre-complain.
I remember not knowing much about Halo 3 before buying it. I had seen the trailer with the bubbleshield scene but other than that I don’t recall stalking the internet for news. But has the story really been spoiled that much ? I don’t think 343i has exagerated here…Multiplayer has been shown a LOT but its normal since 343i has to show the improvements/changes it has done to Halo since Halo 4 since so many people quit Halo with this game.

I feel this way about most things any more. Any and all types of commercial media is spoiled in an effort to market it the biggest audience possible. While I certainly will watch a trailer here or there, I don’t chase down every bit of information anymore. This allows me to have a more open experience when I finally get to the thing I want.
I am trying to stay away from more videos now. I regret watching the opening scene video they released. It kinda does ruin the experience once you finally get the game.
