if you compare the graphics between halo 4 and 3 there is a big difference and it’s on the same console. that means same hardware. if you compare it to halo 1, it’s a major difference. so on the next gen consoles, will all the graphics be the same as halo 4’s from begining to end?

no, because an artist is never satisfied. at least that’s what I’ve heard and hope 343 feels that
The graphics of gaming is always advancing, with new programs being made that have higher polygon counts which make it easier for artists to make graphics look better. So with that said, as time goes by, graphics will get better.
Look at the graphical difference between consoles and PCs.
If the rumors are true that the next Microsoft console will be 6x more powerful than the Xbox 360, graphics are going to get a hell of a lot better.
Sure they can. The XBOX 360 is based on 2005 technology and since then, there have been huge improvements on all areas such as CPU, GPU and RAM is so cheap these days.

Really? Man, you console kids really are ignorant…
If you could just see how Mass Effect runs on a high-end pc, you would never want to go back to a console. No stuttering, no jagged edges, smooth framerates, etc…
PC hardware upgrades like every 2 years or so. This generation of consoles has lasted 7 years and is severely outdated now. The 360 has 512Mb of RAM and the typical pc has at least 2Gb. The GPU of the 360 is comparable to an Nvidia 7800 GTX. Go look at a GPU hierarchy chart and see how far down a 7800 GTX is from the best GPU.
the 360 has 512 mb of ram lol.
Stuff will get better with better technology
Edit: Ninja’d :[
right now the Xbox can only seam to do a 720P with a 30FPS for max so lets hope the next is 1080p with 60FPS

Do you even know what you’re talking about? Doom 3: BFG runs at 1080p and 60FPS.
OP, your name fits you better than you might realise.
The graphics of any Xbox 360 title are vastly inferior to those of a decent PC game (or a high-end PS3 game, for that matter). Seriously, it feels like I’ve gone 5 years into the past every time I boot Halo 4 up. Take a look at some 1080p Crysis gameplay, then you’ll realise how outdated Halo 4 looks. It’s impressive for the hardware, but next-gen Halo will look ten times better.
The graphics will keep improving up to the point where we won’t be able to distinguish between reality and animation.
We’re at the limit for consoles of this generation, Word on the street is halo 5 will be on the next gen console ( I forget where I read that ).
In all fairness this is where PC gaming becomes so much better as the gap in technology is massive.
Although it will cost you the best part of a few thousand £ or $ for a high end gaming rig for PC thats why they are so superior as the technology is far more improved. consoles have dropped in price because the technology is dying, hopefully the next gen consoles will place themselves somewhere up the end of new tech however that would mean they would cost a far amount so I doubt it, but it’s not unlikely we will see much much better graphics and gameplay mechanics because of what the new tech can achieve.

Some people can’t afford a powerful pc, so they play on console. lots of people know that pc is more greater than in technology than console, but console seems more fun to play with others
they can not get better on 360, halo 5 will look better cause it will be xbox 720, and have better hardware so it can have better graphics and hopefully play at 60 fps, and not the horrible 30 fps a 360 gets
All I know is that Halo 4 looks GORGEOUS for 360, and thats basically pushing the system to the limit graphic wise. Not bad for technology from 2005. And obviously graphics will get better, duh?

not really, look at the hardware in the wii u, its a few years old, and the wii u is not even out yet.
Halo 4 badly needs anti-aliasing. What they did with the lighting and all that is downright gorgeous but it can be a bit jarring to see a jagged line mixed in with everything (most notable in when you’re looking at Forerunner accent lights at an angle (especially on Shutdown and Midnight)).
Of course graphics will improve
If you look out there, really look you can find some of the most absurdly realistic computer generated graphics. To be honest, comparatively all console and pc games have -Yoink- graphics. The problem isn’t the ability to create them, the ability is to render them in real time on a system that can handle it.
Console graphics are limited by the hardware, if the next xbox has better hardware, we’ll get our better graphics.
