I haven’t seen anything mentioned about this, but not everyone uses swords in infection. But because the flood has a huge claw, how would that work out with the flood holding other weapons? Hold the gun in the left hand and still have the claw on the other?
This is a very good question… I don’t know the answer sadly
but I wish I did
I know that in the other Halo campaigns, the flood held many different weapons. So I don’t see why they couldn’t. I’m not sure if I answered your question.

Well yeah, they did. Just asking. Especially like to see them show off gameplay of them just using their claws and then holding a weapon. Maybe they will hold and we just see a huge tentacle on the side or they’ll use their left hand.
My theory is that the claw is a weapon that you can disable like any other weapon, and you would still hold a weapon with two hands. Of course you can’t pick up a different weapon or drop one, but I think it is something that is only in the game if you have it enabled at the beginning, and if you have it there at the beginning you will not be able to switch it for a different weapon.
Well the Flood in this mode are like the Infection zombies and they have always used swords.
But Flood in campaign used…everything. Rockets in Halo CE, tanks and warthogs in Halo 2, etc. so I don’t know but I’m hoping…
crosses fingers

This.
Well, the flood claw is just a reskinned energy sword. So, i’m guessing (and hoping) that tthey can hold ARs etc.
And zombies in Reach did in customs, so i’m guessing the anwser is a yes, they can hold other weapons. But, sadly, I cannot say for sure.
From the video shown… It doesn’t look like it

I don’t think so. It would look awkward to have them hold another weapon with their claw, and I doubt they have an alternate model without the claw for when you’re using other weapons.
My guess is either
A) There’s two modes; Flood mode and another like infection where the enemy is just another spartan (so we can recreate all the custom games)
B) There’s an option to disable the flood and just use spartan enemies like infection
C) They left out the ability to let flood use other weapons
When I say “disable the claw” I mean literally get rid of the claw.
And, I was unaware that they (343i) said that flood couldn’t use other weapons.
I’m pretty sure. Halo’s customization has always been high (getting higher every new game), so if Flood Mode doesn’t allow Flood to carry weapons, I will vury vury shocked.
Besides, Halo 3’s and Reach’s Infection has the Zombies only hold Energy Swords. But in Customs, this can be changed. So what would make me think Flood Mode would be any different?
what’s bad is when I had a mod to switch infected for flood back with Halo 3…wonder if they took this idea from that.

Don’t remind me of the driving flood…
This is why they should have stuck with the tentacles. With tentacles we could have whips for melee, as well as curl our tentacle hands around guns to use em, that’s how its done in canon. I think it’d be awesome if there were different Flood models in multiplayer that would differ every time you re-spawn as an flood form. In the games it shows the same forms all the time, but in the canon its more complicated than that, you won’t see two marines with the exact same deformities, their level of deformities will be the same or damn close to the same, but they won’t look exactly the same.
left handed flood would be so cool!
