Can failed Spartans from Orion Project be Spartan IV?

Not all of them had to be on wheel chairs so can they still become Spartan IVs?

Hmm. I don’t think their past augmentations would necessarily stop it from being allowed. But the original ORION candidates are pretty old where we’re at in the timeline. I think think they’d be like 80+.

I dunno cryosleep can stop you aging (Halo Wars 2) and look how old Blue Team looks I bet even Master Chief looks young

If you mean failed Spartan II’s, people like Osman. Then I would kinda assume that they could become Spartan IV’s if they wanted to, maybe.
But the even with some time in cryo the original orion candidates will probably be too old. But that’s just my theory.

Ya that’s why I made this thread  there’s nothing I can find about this though :pensive:

I found out they can and Red team from Halo Wars could get reworked and that’s why Atriox easily beat them in Halo Wars 2 but I dunno if they didn’t if they could have been made 4s without the rework :pensive:

a spartan from one generation can not become a spartan from another generation (for example a II can not become a III, or an Orion can not become a IV), the difference in each generation’s augmentations makes it impossible.

Red Team did not become Spartan IVs in HW2, they are still Spartan IIs. Their armor is what got reworked, stating as Gen-1 Mark IV armor, and getting upgraded with Gen-2 armor technology.

OMG I just learned that the augmentations of Spartan IVs are not as good as II’s or III’s and the scientists thought them in gen 2 armor would make up for it IN THEORY! Lol :joy: gosh no wonder everyone was pissed about the fight between Master Chief and Locke but of course the excuse was “they didn’t want to hurt each other and that Locke was ordered to “capture” not kill lol also they have to see a doctor constantly, sleep longer hours, work out more and eat the right amount to keep their build and take tons of medicine! lol what a hassle to maintain! :joy: imma go with Buck on this one

Spartan Edward Buck also compared the Spartan-IVs to demigods while respectively likening the Spartan-IIs and Spartan-IIIs to the Titans and gods of Greek mythology.

Buck’s reasoning was that while the Spartan-II’s had been literally made to be invincible, the UNSC had figured out how to cut some costs by the time it got around to him and his own augmentations didn’t make him nearly as invincible.

while Spartan-IVs do have weaker augmentations than the IIs, the extent of how much “weaker” they are is actually extremely exaggerated (mainly by the fan-base).

while “weaker”, IVs are still ridiculously strong, being able to lift tanks and bust their way through anything that stands in their way. Their strength though, is greatly boosted by their armor, which would allow a IV to go toe-to-toe with something as powerful as a II (but probably not win against a II in a 1v1 brawl, but they would last a while and put up quite a fight, quite like what we saw with Locke vs Chief).

However, without their armor they are not as strong (albeit, still insanely strong, especially when compared to normal humans and Orion members) . due to this minor detriment, IVs are known to rely more on their military experience and ingenuity, with even the Chief making note of how highly resourceful the IVs are.

the S-IV augmentations are actually quite similar and even improves upon certain aspects of the S-III augmentations. There are even augmentations that are unique to the Spartan IV program (fun fact: some of these augmentations allow the IVs to breath methane and eat tree bark, kinda random, but interesting). The bones of a Spartan IV are practically unbreakable and it it is estimated that they can remain at peak combat effectiveness for hundreds of years.

There are some great resources if you want to more about the IVs:
One of the most detailed is Installation 00’s breakdown of the augmentations.
There’s also the halopedia wiki and the Official Spartan Field Manuel.

That’s where I got my information to and I bought the books to, even re-read new blood, Lol I like bucks analogy better

Greek Mythology:

Titans: Spartan II’s
Gods: Spartan III’s
Demi-Gods: Spartan IV’s

Also the book confirms what happened to the characters we love to play that wasn’t Master Chief…they are dead :sob:
