Can everyone PLEASE stop complaining?

All i see on this forum is, “OMG Halo 4 is turning into COD blah blah blah”. Enough. If you honestly took the time to write out a whole post about that, on a website that YOU took the time to make an account on to become part of the halo community, then you are just contradicting yourself. It is quite pathetic how many whiners and complainers we have on here. I am the only one who actually is looking forward to the darn game? Here are my reasons why Halo 4 is NOT copying COD and the haters are wrong.

  1. “OMG HALO 4 HAS KILL-STREAKS SO IT’S COPYING COD OMGGGG.” No. FPS’s are changing, and we can’t expect Halo not to evolve with them. If I saw a specialization called Sleight of Hand, THEN I would be a bit worried, but that hasn’t happened. It was actually quite humorous to read how audacious and passionate people were bad mouthing Halo 4, like if it was the spawn of -Yoink!- and EA.

  2. “OMG HALO 4 HAS SPRINT SO IT’S COPYING COD OMGGGG.” No. In my opinion, 343 is just doing what they feel is the best new thing to contribute to Halo, running-wise. Many players in Reach only used sprint anyway. I know I did. And if you think about it, if you are running around in a war zone and you weren’t able to sprint as fast as you could, well that would be just stupid.

  3. “OMG HALO 4 IS CHANGING SO MUCH FROM PREVIOUS HALO’S WE SHOULD STAY TRUE TO THE ORIGINAL HALO FEEL.” NO! The reason why COD is getting dull and repetitive is because of this. If they keep on making the same Halo over and over again, don’t you guys think the same thing will happen to it that happened to COD?

For the love of God stop whining and complaining about the game. I am going to buy it. You are going to buy it. Your grandmother is going to buy it. EVERYONE is going to buy it, and Halo will once again become the dominate FPS on Xbox Live.

Complaining about complainers won’t help at all.

Ummmmm…it’s their opinion. And you can’t change it.

Amen

also, welcome to the forums

@OP: You first.

In b4 lock.

If that’s all you’re seeing, you’re looking in the wrong places. There is negativity, and people who complain or offer constructive criticisms, but likewise being overly optimistic and everyone just saying ‘‘the game looks great’’ doesn’t create any discussion value.

People complain because they care.
The people who complain about complainers are just annoying and useless, you offer no views, you just propose we say nothing but positive comments. While that is nice, actually offering criticisms and putting forward concerns creates discussion value and can end up making a better game. I don’t see why the community shouldn’t be involved in a game they are all buying, have bought previous iterations of, and will continue to buy in the future.

Fans on this website aren’t your average player, they are long-term investments, pleasing the general community and listening to feedback is advisable, Bungie understood that, hence their passionate community, I think 343i understand that too.

Being dismissive helps no one.

It used to be 1000 times worse. Trust me this is a good run for these forums.

Welcome.

It’s getting a little OTT indeed, however complaining about those who do nothing but complain is both ironic in itself and only adds more fuel to the tank.

A vicious circle I’m afraid.

Best to try and ignore the melodrama and voice any positive/negative feedback in a friendly mature way.

Recently I have seen more love for halo 4 than hate. Hate towards Reach however -_- Hating on reach is sooo old now, just let it go

Thanks, and I just figured I could offer a little insight as to how they are all wrong. I’m just so sick of everyone comparing everything to COD. Why is it always COD? Because it is the most popular and successful video game franchise ever that’s way. So whenever a new shooter comes up it will always be compared to it.

First off welcome to waypoint.

Now, you might not be new to the Halo games but you must be new to the forums before the release of a Halo title.

This complaining has always been the same. (Bungie.net was way worse IMO) People complain before a game, during the game and years after. Some complaints are valid but, very few. Most are posted in their own thread despite their already being a dedicated one just for x complaint. So you end up with the first page loaded with the same topic.

This has always been the case. My advice is read them and post some constructive responses or just move on.

Sorry bro, but there are perfectly logical reasons for comparing the two. It’s all based in opinion and is a matter of perception so I wouldn’t make that big of a deal about it. You may not like it but the comparisons will be made–it doesn’t mean anyone is wrong. We just got to deal with disagreeing with others. It won’t just help to make you a better forum-goer, it will also help you be a happier person.

… and besides, not only does COD have kill streaks and everything u said. There’s loads of games that have that, like Battlefield for example.

Even if my grandmother was still alive, I don’t think she would buy Halo 4 :stuck_out_tongue: or an xbox for that matter… her handheld poker games sufficed.

In all seriousness, Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Me, Im going to buy Halo 4 the millisecond it comes out and play it and enjoy every second of it. Others may not and thats too bad for them. People are allowed to voice their opinion, but they should be doing it in a constructive way and not just hating blindly.

> Ummmmm…it’s their opinion. And you can’t change it.

“Halo is becoming a CoD clone” is an opinion based on no facts therefore it’s invalid. The only thing Halo has that CoD created is perks. But Halo 4’s perks seem to make barely any impact on gameplay, unlike Call of Duty’s perks. Grenade indicators, hit-markers, sprint, etc., none of these originated from Call of Duty. And ordinance drops are nowhere near the same as killstreaks.

Agreed, all this community does is whine about every new bit of info. I can understand scrutiny, but holy -Yoink- people take it too far.

Stop trying to be the thought police.

Also, CoD doesn’t have to originate a concept for Halo to steal it from them. Somebody else doing it first is irrelevant. I’m not making any accusations; I want to be clear about this.

People are entitled to their opinions. Calling those opinions “invalid” won’t change that. Let’s just focus on being constructive.

Please stop whining.

j/k

Frank O’ Connor himself on the RTX panel said that Halo may look similar in many ways, but it plays and feels completely unique. He also said that it is most closely similar to a 1986 game.

Funny thing is these “competitive elitists” can’t answer a simple question.

How can Halo evolve and get better without being the same thing, “steal or borrowing things from other games” while still influencing others, and still be considered competitive and good enough for MLG.

EDIT: Sorry like OP I’m to at getting tired of this, all I see is 4sk br, medals suck, gimmicks, sniper sucks, helmets suck, cortana/chief’s new design sucks, assassinations suck, recycling animations suck, maps suck, horrible, garbage, sucks, people can complain about the game and after so much we just snap at them and we’re to blame?
