Can everyone on TB.NET forums lay off josh holmes?

Wow…after reading a fantastic post by TrueBlueHero which gives us a lot of information about halo 5 (Seriously if you havent read it, go read it CLICK HERE )
(Kuddos to TrueBlueHero) I felt as if most of the people that josh holmes was responding to were attacking him as if he was some random person on the internet? Now i know that my post was widely outraged (HERE) with yoinks and such but Josh wasnt even on the MCC team and people are giving him -Yoink- for it. Listen guys, Josh wasnt on that team for MCC, he is strictly for Halo 5 and yet they go on to complain and he does a good job by politely telling them “Shove your comments where the sun does not shine”. If you are going to complain please go complain to the people who worked on MCC.

Also something that bothered me is the amount of hate on sprint. Sprint works in halo 5…people need to understand this is the generation of gaming now…fast paced games. Sprint does and will work with halo 5 because it is balanced. People are saying that josh was overreacting on the fans and that he was being very disrespectful to them, IM SORRY but idc who the hell you are, if you are going to come at my throat like that im gonna tell you off…HE DIDNT EVEN DO IT IN A VERY DISRESPECTFUL WAY…he was really professional about all the negative comments he was receiving. Teambeyond forums are full of savages.

The sprint discussion was a little immature, not even going to lie. Both josh and the beyond forum members.

“Sprint haters” “religious debate”, a bit immature. Then we have the team beyond members over reacting as well.

I still want to see his reasons gameplay wise of why he thinks sprint should be in, as he kind of treats it as if sprint is only in because the halo 5 team wants it in. The only support he gives sprint is the sacrificing of your gun, which is good, but I want more of an explanation than that.

Also op, if sprint worked flawlessly in halo 5, people would not be fighting over it.

Josh, aside from the sprint section, was very polite and did offer lots of reasons why things worked and did not work. Props to him on that.

I’m not surprised. Frankie posted there and they ran him out of there with insults and rude comments. This cannot be denied.

Just let it go, people will be haters no matter what. Halo 5 will forge ahead and make sales with or without them.

He did work on h4 and he is working on h5. He may be a nice guy, but im not a fan of his work.

Kudos for him actually interacting with the community though. Thats a rarity with 343.

We know.

Every graham is not a fan of his work.

I went to Team Beyond once. Needless to say I have never ever been back there for reasons exactly like the ones mentioned above.

We’ll see.

They are still apart of Halo, so it’s not sacrilege to say they could have put Halo 5 development on hold to help out the MCC, which they didn’t end up doing (what can that say to fans? You know the answer already perhaps).

And sprint debating will never die, and it will always be “circular” as people on these forums now seem to put it because the incorrect side circles around the other without tackling it directly.

And you don’t really know sprint works in Halo 5 OP, you cannot balance sprint without it becoming useless for Halo’s type of gameplay. You can have a fast paced game without visual cues, immersion or the inability to not shoot your weapon.

Josh explained why he didn’t go into specifics about sprint, and that was the “religious debate” comment.

He knows nothing he would say will change their minds, so he said it’s in the game. No use in arguing over something like that, even the guy in charge of the game realizes it.

Ive never seen 343 go into mechanical reasoning behind sprint. Obviously nothing they say will change our minds, but itd be nice to hear. Akin to the morbid satisfaction people get from a killer explainimg why he killed someone.

Sprint works in halo 5. The only reason why people are opposed to sprint is because its new to halo. All OG halo players will have to just adapt and overcome,

We have, it’s not so difficult when a mechanic -Yoink!- you, but thank you for adding another bullet to ineffective comebacks towards anti sprint.

How about the reversal?

If it’s a religious debate, then there should be a separation between the church (of sprint believers) and the state (of Halo).

He knows nothing he says will change our minds because he has no factual evidence that sprint makes Halo better, other than “immersion”, which is what he eluded to again in one of his recent posts in Beyond.net. Only this time, he said that the Halo 5 team feels this “immersion”. Feels are nice, but facts are indisputable. And I have yet to hear an indisputable reason why sprint makes Halo better. Getting to the battle faster is the only thing that has come close, but it usually starts spiraling into a circular argument and at that point the claim falls flat.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not attacking the guy. But if he came onto Beyond.net with nothing to back up this mechanic other than “sprint feels good to our team”, he should have known what was coming. I also want to point out that after his initial post, he sidestepped some of the more civil posts that followed up on his remarks on sprint to guilt trip some meathead who posted a non-constructive post. Rather than support some of the more positive discussions, he dragged an insignificant negative discussion through the mud. I totally agree that non-constructive posts get us nowhere, but neither does feeding the trolls who post them.

I know, I still want to know his reasons though. Even though it would probably cause more debates, but it is good to know both sides of the argument.

I think the “nothing will change their minds” is a bad assumption, I mean if he gave a good reason, I would accept it. It’s just that there is not really any reasons besides the one I listed above that he has stated. At least give us a reason to why it may have not worked well with the new abilities without sprint.

I just feel something this controversial needs a good explanation, you know?

And we’ll never get one.

Like i said sprint is just Frowned on because of these OG halo players. There should be a classic playlist.

Probably won’t but there will still be an issue if the maps aren’t altered.
