Can they? My internet connection isn’t great but it isn’t slow, my internet speed is alright. I do fine without a filter but one of the things I love about H3 & Reach is the good connection filter, it nearly eliminated my chances of going into laggy matches and I thought it was a great feature. Initially when Halo 4 first came out I was doing alright, but now with the smaller population I’ve been running into laggy matches alot more often, and it just reminds me of how much it sucks to not have search filters. Anyways yeah, can filters be added through an update?
The game filters automatically. An explaination of how the system works can be found here.

I’ve seen so many people make this claim for so many games and I’ve yet to see one that actually worked as they claimed.
The only time it has was 6 months after MW2, where they retricted the search time to increase the ping accepted range by 10 every 5 seconds starting from 50. Once you reach 100, you cancel searching then restart it.
Still not a good idea since Treyarch left in a local only search option and there’s no lag in those games.
Its in there but it doesn’t work because not enough people play.

It wasn’t working day one.
So can it? Lol
I’d bet that you’ll see it in Halo 5, but not in Halo 4 anytime soon or ever.

Unfortunately you’re probably right
