So I was wondering can a Champion level player derank out of it or once they get it they stay in that status the whole season? I know there is only 200 of these ranks per playlist. So getting into it late in the season is probably nearly impossible. I wonder if some players get it and then sit on it and not play.
I got Champion rank once. I tried to sit on it, and gloat for the rest of the season, but if you don’t keep playing your rank slowly degrades. People get ranked higher than you, and this pushes your rank closer to #200. I turned on one morning and I had gone back to Onyx 1500. If you get into Champion, you need to keep playing, (and winning), to keep your rank.
I assume if you are on the Higher end…say Top 10 it’d be hard for you to fall back to Onyx. But I’d also assume you’re always at risk if you are in the lower 100 of Champions depending on playlists of course
