Seriously what is the point of a rank if they base everything MM related off of a hidden rank?

In all honesty right now it feels like it only matters for people to be higher rank so they can crap on you here in the forums. That has literally been my only experience with ranked players.
I mean… that’s all it ever has been lol, but that doesn’t mean it’s stupid to care about it, I wanna grind for onyx this season soley because the emblems given as player cards & emblems have a wolf design and I like it!
People over exaggerate the “hidden” bit.
Your CSR chases the left hand tail of you MMR curve. It doesn’t take long for your curve to narrow to the point that they are pretty much the same.
Everyone’s accounts are following the same rules. So comparing CSR tells you exactly the same information as comparing MMR.
And in the end it’s the CSR scale that is causing angst. People are getting upset over a handful of points on a scale of 0 to 1800+. If they reduced the scale back to a smaller one (eg 1 to 50) nobody would care.

There is no reason. There isnt a stat system for general play so they had to add something to make you feel like you’re doing something.
To satisfy someone’s ego.
For me a simple “show off” how many times you played, what you accomplished. Simply track your progress in the game, but seriously nothing extra. I’m in Tour 9 in MCC, I keep chasing the max level. But is mostly as a personal goal.
Infinite could use similar system, like a lifetime XP. If you reach max rank could give you some badge or something. For your dedication.
Pride and rights for the bag my guy. Realy in older games there were real ranking that meant how much you liked the game and how much experiance you had.
