So I know that if you preorder the game from the xbox live marketplace that you can download it before so at midnight you can start playing. So I want to know if I preorder from another store like Best Buy or Gamestop, if I can download the game before as well. Mainly I worry about this because I want a hard copy of the game, and all the other tangible cool -Yoink-, but I do not want to go pick it up and then wait 5 hours for the damn thing to download like I did for MCC.
Thanks guys!
No, pre-ordering a physical copy of the game does not give you the option to install the game from Xbox Live in advance so it’s ready to play the second you bring the disc home. You still need to install it from the disc. The only exception is if you buy the Halo 5: Limited Collector’s Edition, in which case you can collect the physical rewards and a download code a week early, though the game won’t unlock for play until the actual release date. People who buy the Limited Collector’s Edition will also have the option to trade the download code for a physical copy.
I think all digital preorders can predownload, but disk based copies cannot.

Thanx! I had a feeling that’s how they would do it, which bugs me because I want to get the limited edition, but the collectors is just wayyyy too expensive. Now ill have to stare at my screen for hours for the damn thing to install.
