I seriously am fed up with this registration lag on H2A and it also occurs in H4. Can 343 please state if there is a certain network speed requirement to play these games? We are almost at a full month since this games release and nothing is smooth or reliable, it is just letting us down more and more, update after update. Every H2A game i play, shots never register and grenades come out sometimes a full 6 SECONDS LATE. 343 can you please.respond to us and let us know so we are not completely blind to what we can or cant do in the game. You will slowly lose your fanbase if this continues and no major changes are made to this game.
From what you have described, this seems to me like it is an issue with your internet connection rather than the game. I’m not experiencing any of the issues you describe and have been having decently smooth games. And from the games I’ve seen broadcast on Twitch or gameplays on Youtube, others also seem to not be having the issues you are. How is your console connected to the internet? Is it wireless or through ethernet cable? And how is your internet in general? Have you done a speed test? There are many factors that can be causing what you are experiencing.
Do you have any friends that live close by that play? get into a custom game with them and see if you have the same issue. Also, when you check your speed pay attention to the ping time. If you have good bandwidth but crappy ping, that will need to be alleviated.
It’s not 343’s fault that your Internet connection is literally a cancerous potato. You need at least 1Mbps to make it semi playable.
What your describing just sounds like good old fashioned lag. Where are you based in the world? I am in Australia, and when I am matched in European or U.S games, I experience quite bad lag, and some of the things you are describing. As Apollo mentioned, get into a custom game with 2-3 friends in your geographic area and see if you experience the same issues. If you do, its your internet (possibly packet loss etc)…If it does not happen, its just 343i’s fault for putting you in games with people you have a high latency to.
I am also having these problems in H2A and Halo 4. IT’S NOT MY CONNECTION. All the classic games work fine for me, and so does every other game I play(World of Tanks, Battlefield). I checked my connection and It’s fine except for my upload speed, which is really poor(but that didn’t affect any other games I play).

My internet runs a 3.06 mbps down and a 0.375 up. It well enough meets the standards to play the game, every other game i play is perfectly fine and i do not even experience any type of lag in any other game, not even in Halo 1, 2 classic, or 3. Just H2A and 4. I have seen others with better internet than me experience the same issues, so i know it is not just me and my internet. I am wireless as well.
You guys responding to the OP are idiots, it is the game because 343i took out dedicated servers and are using a P2P fallback system. I have the same problems and I have 90 down and 15 up, with a Ping of 18-22ms. So don’t assume his internet is the problem when other people including myself are having the same problems.

170 down, 11 or so up, same issues. Guess my connection is poor too. What a bunch of clowns.
The problems everyone is mentioning are just lag issues, nothing more. This is what happens when you play against people from other parts of the world. You do not get the same lag in COD, or Battlefield because those games match you with people in your geographical region.
Halo MCC, currently just throws you into any game it feels like, anywhere in the world, which is why it lags. Again, this has nothing to do with your internet connection, it is just poor matchmaking by the game. If you experience the issues playing with people in the SAME region, it could potentially be your internet connection. Speedtest.net for example, does not test the QUALITY of your connection, only raw speed. To test your quality, go to pingtest.net and run those tests. The tests on pingtest.net measure packet loss, jitter etc which can have a significant impact in online gaming.
Even WITH dedicated servers, if I am in Australia and am playing on a US dedicated server, I will experience the same issues with lag. You cannot say you always have a ping of 18-22ms because it depends on where you are pinging too. Again, if I am in Australia and ping a neighboring city, it will be very low. If I ping to Los Angeles, it would be 350+ and vice versa for an American player.
To see this in action, when you go onto speedtest.net, do not let it automatically select the best/closest server. Select a server yourself, further away. You will notice your ping increases the further the server location is from you.
The concept of how latency and the internet works seems to be a rare thing in these forums…
