I feel like wreckage is a missing fun detail of 353’s titles.
One of my favourite aspects of past titles, particularly 3/reach was that wreckage hung around for a while and could be used as cover, but also caused numerous funny incidents. One of my personal favorites was when I killed a guys banshee who was flying at the top of the Spire, in Slayer the respawn was 3 seconds, he Respawned near the bottom and a piece of his old banshee landed on and killed him granting me a double kill on one guy. Was funny as -Yoink-.
I disappointed in Halo 4 when you’d kill a vehicle and it just had the wreckage awkwardly appear for 1-3 seconds then disappear, most of the time the banshee bits would disappear before hitting the ground. Not only did it look stupid and goofy but it was less funIt also takes away from custom games where people utilise wreckage.A counter argument I guarantee people will trot out is “it’s too taxing and causes lag/frame issues”
It was fine 10 years ago there’s no excuse nowadays to not have it.I also miss friendly fire and collision for skill gap purposes and fun aswell, I really hope it returns. But I think it will only be in ranked, so no more BtB friendly fire, which means no more halo for me if they kill BtB any more than they already have sadly.
But that’s an argument for another day.
We shall see.
Also, what’s with 353? I’ve been seeing this in a few posts. Is it just that folks are honestly (and consistently) misspelling, or is this some sort of passive aggressive thing that I don’t understand?

Fat fingered on my phone and didn’t proof read as I’m in a rush haha
God I hope so. Most likely won’t be there as I’ve learnt not to expect too much from 343 or I’ll end up disappointed. It’s not a dig at 343 or anything just Bungie and 343 do things differently and we’ve had nearly 10 years to process that.

Well yeah that’s exactly right
Doesn’t help that no one gives a -Yoink- about btb and how it looks or plays because “ItS ONLy SOciAl”
I enjoy the wreckage, but sometimes it is super annoying for the other vehicles, especially for certain game types or maps. Previous 343 games turned vehicles into paper mache, imagine what would happen to the remaining vehicles with drive paths locked up with wreckage.

So you won’t play halo if you can’t betray your teammates?
That’s wild.
As for the wreckage, it can add a situational variety to the game that keeps people playing. But it would be an annoyance that blocks sight lines and causes vehicles to flip over.

Yeah if they continue to erode gameplay elements that make the game fun, and particularly skill gap elements I won’t play anymore. Social seems to be copping a lot of it.
And not purely for betrayals, it’s fun when something accidentally collides with a teammate etc or just silly stuff happens. It’s just another lame generic experience with all that taken away.
As for wreckage getting in the way of sightlines…so what? That’s what it does, it changes the game, I’d rather some variety in a match than the same monotonous crap every time. A bit of wreckage in the way isn’t an issue, go around it, or use it to your advantage etc?
Same if it flips vehicles over, that’s the idea? Or again, just go around it?
