Prepare yourselves fellow players, the boltshot campers are coming. Check that, they’re already here. They have come in droves. I didn’t think it was much of a problem because I hadn’t experienced it yet. However, now I have felt their wrath.
In the last 5 gives alone, I have had to deal with teams filled with Boltshotters. Please tell me how on earth is it fair for your enemy, after backing him into a corner, to whip out a tiny pistol, charge it up for a second and unleash a killer blow. I just do not understand the reasoning for it’s inclusion. It is just as bad as giving everyone 2 stickies to spawn with. It’s a get out-of-jail-free card.
Oh, and did you see the range of that thing? My god…
The AC ones are the worst but… Why are you rushing those guys so much? Are you trying to use the suppressor or something? I suggest putting some distance between you and them and use: the AR, the Carbine, or the BR. The range is annoying, but if you strafe you can dodge it.
Stick to your teammates and try to pick those guys off, and if you avoid their camping places they end up without kills.
I promise you there is less camping in halo 4 then there was in halo 3. Camping around with camo and stealth is more of an issue than "boltshot camping’.

Those guys camping power weapon spawns ticked me off to no end.

Good advice. It tends to be on the maps such as Adrfit, with a lot of corners and corridors. It’s just intensely frustrating to get the upper hand on someone only for them to whip out that thing and mince you. I’m usually not even that close to them. Often I’m well away from them, even further than sword-lunging distance. That could be due to my internet connection maybe?
At other times it’s difficult, after breaking their shields and forcing them into cover, to have the presence of mind to recall if this person has a boltshot or not.

Its probably because of the sidearm challenge that’s on this week. Perhaps you can try using Promethean vision and explosives support upgrade? That flushes them out.

Last time I checked Active Camo has weaknesses and can be countered easily by common sense and strategy. I use AC when I snipe because it is a legitimate tactic to be utilized in the game I also use it to ninja the newbies and BK’s. Boltshot is just plain OP simple as that, no starting weapon should be an OSK at anytime. AC isn’t an issue nor is it broken.
The only thing you can complain about currently is that active camo glitch where the person using camo doesn’t appear on radar when crouching.
The boltshot will get nerfed, it has to for being so unbalanced.
For example:
-Significant range
-Too tight of a spread in the burst
-5 shots to charge that produces at least 12 seperate “pellets”
-Too fast of a charge-up
-Too fast of a cool-down
-Requires barely half of the spread to obtain the kill(thats six “pellets” when it takes 9-10 for a single-shot kill)
-Doesn’t even require a full charge to fire the burst

Power weapons only spawn once, unless in domination, it still doesn’t stop camping because a team that knows the drops can camp the future weapon spawns

That’s my logic as well. I was playing Adrift earlier and needed one more solid BR burst head shot on an opponent and was trying to close the kill. I wouldn’t say I was close to him. Considering the amount of shields that I had, his shield level, and the distance between us, a skattershot wouldn’t have even killed me. Boltshot did though. I don’t get it. I figure that the host didn’t receive the signal that I stopped moving towards him and I appeared closer on his screen. Kill cam didn’t make sense either. Big surprise. Best tactic I’ve found so far is just fire up the jetpack and go for the ninja. If that fails, smack them and try to stick them. Gonna start giving the hard-light shield a try as a deterrence.
Make the charge up boltshot (uses 5 shots at once) do the same damage as if you hit someone with 5 individual shots. Those 5 alone wouldn’t be enough to kill someone, so the charge up shouldn’t be lethal.

This is what I use and it works good to counter campers. Also if you think a weapon is OP then start using it, get good at it, and just beat people at their own game. You don’t have to be a camper to be effective with the bolt shot.
