Every time i try to start this mission i get glitchy video/audio in the cutscene and then when it finally finishes i get the black loading screen of infinity. I have the downloaded version from game pass and ive reinstalled twice. Any idea what is causing this? My son is playing Halo for the first time and is crushed he cant finish the story!

Did you try doing a hard boot (unplug for 5 secs then plug back in) on the xbox? I don’t know if will help with your situation. Sounds like a game glitch. The game obviously downloaded everything or wouldn’t have gotten this far.
Honestly, try booting into a different mission first and then going back to the one you want to load.
