This seems almost a bizarre thing to say, but Halo CE Anniversary (MCC) on my Xbox One X has a sub 30fps framerate that’s almost unplayable. I saw some very old threads talking about this and I thought it’d be fixed by now. Do you guys have the same issue? Multiplayer I can understand but an unplayable single player campaign is pretty outrageous.
Nope all my campaigns have been running fine. Had an issue a little while back of achievements not popping but went back like a week later and then they worked. Perhaps you need to try an uninstall and reinstall? Or make sure you don’t have to many programs running at the same time while playing.
Try clearing your Xbox’s cache memory. Do this by turning off the console by holding down the power button for about 10 seconds, until the system powers down completely. You won’t get a confirmation or anything like that. But, turning off the console this way will clear the cache memory which could possibly be causing your system to run sluggish.
Something else to look out for is that your system is running too hot. That can cause sluggishness too. Does your Xbox have enough space around it to get proper ventilation? Take a look at the vents on the back of the console and make sure they’re free of visible clumps of dust. If you can see anything there, blast it clean with some compressed air or something.

Halo 2 co op doesn’t even work for me. The game just shuts down during certain cutscenes. I just bought 2 original copies of each game. They run a lot smoother and have no problems. Use the mcc for halo 3 matches only.
I have been playing the campaigns recently for the challenges and, like many others, have noticed a severe performance degradation for H2A. It only started occurring after Reach was released. It’s not a few dips here and there, but some very jarring drops to well below 30 or 20. I noticed a few issues with CEA as well, but those are not that frequent for me. So, yes, the problems do exist even if you don’t use Instant-On, if you restart your console, etc. I hope all of this gets ironed out before 343i calls an end to the “new MCC” project.
They seriously screwed something up with the Reach release, causing Halo CE anniversary mode and Halo 2 anniversary mode to run like absolute crap. They were mostly fine before Reach came along.
I don’t think it has anything to do with cache or your xbox running too hot.
I have just started playing through the MCC saga for the achievement and so far i have noticed major drops in framerate. Im only halo level on combat evolved and so far there is major slowdowns on screen. I turn around slowly and you can see the frame rates drop just by looking at the waterfall at the beginning of the level. But when I switch it to classic view its fine. Me personally the problems started as soon as they added the classic sound effects to Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary back in march. I cant play this til they fix the campaign. Shocking how the multiplayer performs better than the campaign.

While I didn’t try CE or CEA, I can say that H2A runs very bad sometimes (fps drop way below 60). It was better before the Reach update and no, the Xbox is not dusted up, Doom Eternal e.g. runs perfectly fine.
I haven’t had any problems. I’ve been playing H2A and all the other MCC games grabbing achievements solo and co-op. (One X) Is anyone streaming Netflix while your playing.
I have also noticed low frame-rates while playing the campaign almost constantly with H2 Anniversary and even HCE Anniversary. Both games run flawlessly with classic graphics. Like many others, I’ve experienced these issues since the Reach update for some reason. Haven’t had fps issues with multiplayer - just the campaigns.
The only slowdown i have in mcc campaigns are literally only the same that ive always seen in the same parts in mcc since launch. Just cea its the most noticeable.
Its not any better ir worse on my x than it was on my og launch.
