Campaign: Teammates loadouts

I’m probably gonna be famed for this, but oh well… Here goes nothing…

Anyone else confused as to why some Spartans choose to wear colorful/impractical armor?
I never really understood why a solider (particularly a highly skilled and professional solider at that) would choose to wear easily recognizable colors, such as red, blue, teal or white, as their armor’s primary color… This decision made sense for the Covenant, because their type of government follows a caste system, which distinguishes rank or status by color. Also, from a non-canon perspective, this design choice was practical for Bungie at the time due to graphical limitations of the original Xbox.

Anyways, does a Spartans impractical choice of armor hold any rhyme or reason in Halo canon? Is their any explanation to this other than user choice? I know this is a very nit-picky issue, but the UNSC has always come off as a uniformed and professional military - similar to that of today’s strongest world powers.

On a final note: I doubt it’s too far into development for an idea like this to happen, but wouldn’t it be cool if we had the ability to customize our Spartan teammates armor in the games campaign menu? I thought about this awhile back when playing Reach, and wondered if Noble 6’s armor customization feature could transfer over to squad members. This would allow us to customize our team to our liking, and could be fun in the process… If Spartans are gonna wear impractical colors, might as well have fun with it and make them all pink, and have a badass fighting force of hello-kitty super soldiers.

Anyways, that’s just a thought.
Discuss.

Blue Team is full of Spartans that are already established with unique armor sets that separates them from other Spartans. If you showed a picture of Fred, Linda, or Kelly in their armor to a huge Halo lore fan then they would immediately know who they are. That’s why you can’t just simply change their armor, it’s what you identify them by.

Although, I have to agree that kicking -Yoink- and chewing bubblegum in pink armor would be hilariously awesome.

Firstly change the title of the thread, it is very misleading. In no shape or form does your OP mention the loadouts of the Spartans.

It makes no sense for them to wear weird colored armor.
