I’m pretty new to Halo (over a year ago) so I don’t know if historically this is a thing or not. I also don’t know if anyone has talked about this, but I think to further incentivise people to buy the campaign around launch, 343 should give some Multiplayer In-Game currency by linking your Xbox or Steam account, maybe for those who buy the campaign before or within the first week or two of launch and maybe enough currency to get purchase a battle pass. I think that its fair considering that 1) the campaign is the full $60 and 2) we’re not getting co-op or forge at launch. What do you guys think?

I think it would be nice if players who buy the campaign get the first battle pass for free.
historically you would just get everything for $60 and there was no multiplayer currency.
however i do agree that, especially people who bought it digitally, should get something since right now you can only get some blue colors and only from some stores.
I think this is a horrible idea.

Where are you getting this from ? This has been mentioned multiple times on here, and multiple people have looked and never found any proof that this is the case.

I think people are just getting the standard paid battlepass mixed up with the event passes, which are free.

The only thing I’ve found on it was at gamescon opening night after the cinematic, Joseph Staten says “what you just saw was the intro to our first free to play season”
Which maybe people are interpreting it as saying the battlepass will be free.
That’s not what I took from it, but maybe that’s where the rumor came from.

Exactly. He was talking about the first season of the free to play multiplayer. They have never stated the first battle pass is free for everyone, people are getting confused.
It would be nice for like a free battle pass
yeah i don’t think there is anything campaign purchasers are getting with the game other than the campaign and forge assets. The “Collectors” edition comes with a $15 xbox store card if thats any inclination of what people who are spending a little more than the standard $60 edition.
I do agree, and this is a though question to answer (as a fan) makes no sense to me to pay 60 Dlls for the entire campaign when before it was everything, the only way I see it, they know fans will buy the campaign as it is like the main reason a lot of us got invested on the halo universe multiplayer was like the cherry on top, so as the system works now they plan to make the more money out of multiplayer so it is hard to imagine they will give us stuff from the other system they plan to sell apart, I hate that this is becoming slowly like a destiny system

I absolutely think we should be entitled to something exclusive in MP for paying the same as we usually have for technically less. $60 (or almost $80 where I’m from) for just a campaign with supposedly some exclusive armour sets for accomplishing certain things. But that’s about it. Did everyone suddenly forget when $60 got you a campaign, with 2/4 player co-op, multiplayer, forge, theatre for all modes (not just multiplayer) and an additional mode like Spartan Ops or Firefight? Unless Infinite’s campaign is like, 30 hours long, with a tonne of replayability, I don’t understand why we’re paying full price for it when there are other open-world/single player games with 60+ hours of playtime for that same price tag as well. The people who are defending this and don’t think we should be entitled to extra for paying for the campaign, I would love to hear their reasoning as to why. Because to me, it seems like there are no decent arguments in favour of it.
Until we know how long Infinite’s campaign is and if it’s even any good, we won’t know if it’s worth the price tag. But my money is riding on it being a no, it won’t be.
