I just wanted to play the Master Chief Saga Playlist (that contains all missions from Halo 1-4) but it’s not working. Actually all campaign playlists aren’t working. When I start a playlist it loads for a while and then it jumps back to the menu. Is this a known issue or am I the only one with that problem?
I am having this same exact issue.
Ditto. Doesn’t matter which playlist on which game, or one that’s cross-game (which is what I wanted to start with!) - it does the countdown beep, pauses at the background for a few seconds and then goes back to the main menu screen. Is it just because the servers have been having trouble, and it technically ranks performance? Or is it an installation issue? I assume reviewers had the chance to try out Playlists before launch otherwise their reviews are a little dodgy… so it might be an installation issue. Has anyone tried reinstalling yet?
Odd. They work fine for me… Maybe a re-install could fix it? Hard reboot of the console maybe?
I think it is a server issue with microsoft as well. Everything with MM even the campaign stuff is having issues. Like you can’t change the difficulty from normal in the master chief saga playlist Which is a 343i issue.
I hope so, wouldn’t want to re-download the entire game, but I can start any campaign from the menu, EXCEPT Combat evolved, which hangs in the loading screen for “Pillar of Autumn”. I kind of wanted to run through them in order, but I may just need to get over it. Gotta say that Halos 3 and 4 look nicer than I thought they would and the cinematics for 2A are ridiculous.
Had the same problem, seams like its waiting for some server and giving up. Putting the xbox in offline mode (settings - network - go offline )then trying to load a playlist makes it work. Im currently xbox live silver is anyone with this issue gold? As it seams like it wants to go online instead of just be single player (shrug) so being sliver may be the cause?
Same problem here. I would like to know if these campaign playlists require a GOLD membership??? Dear god I hope not
I’m having the same issue. I completed Halo 2 in The Master Chief Saga and now Arrival from Halo 3 won’t load (does the same take-you-back-to-the-menu thing). Tried going offline and that didn’t work either. I have a Gold membership too, so I don’t think it depends on your XBL membership status.
EDIT: A hard reset fixed the issue (at least for this mission). Hopefully it doesn’t continue to do this in the future.

That piece of information helped me to finally resume the playlist i was running, cheers.
Do playlists not save progression? I was playing thru halo ce fine. I started halo 2 heroic playlist and when I went back it didn’t let me resume. I was like 4 missions in and it wants me to start the playlist over. Could this be because I went back and played another halo ce playlist?
Just started playing the Master Chief Playlist. I beat Halo: CE and Halo 2 and saved it on Sierra 117. When I started to play again and loaded up my progress it loads up the Pillar of Autumn on Halo: CE again?! Is there anyway to get this back with a phonecall to Microsoft or 343 or something as I have wasted loads of time on this.
Not the only one. I tried Master Chief Saga and got through CE and 2 then when it came time for Halo 3 it had the load screen for Arrival or Sierra 117 whichever one it was and then put me on the first mission of Halo CE. I was pissed and haven’t tried since and that was months ago.
All campaigns up to H3 have been working for me. Been playing Co-Op on all of them with two game consoles on same network. One thing we noticed with H2, we found that if both consoles loaded up same game configuration, then loaded the single player map first. Then both backed out, then joined co-op, then started the co-op mission, the game would load. Single player doesn’t seem to be an issue for me.
Ill have to look into this one. I’m actually working through Halo 4 on Legendary right now. Ill try a playlist soon and see if it gives me any issues.
