There’s a major problem with the campaign playlists: I’m going mad on this… I just can’t select levels I’ve already played within a playlist! I know it says something like “watch out if you play another playlist, your checkpoint will be reset and you have to start the mission in this playlist again.” Okay, I’m fine with that. But the game just doesn’t let me select a map within any of the playlists and I am for sure talking about levels I have already completed in these playlists. All I can do is watch which Levels are included - but there’s no way to select one. Or am I blind?
I have several not finished playlists (mostly because of in-game bugs and game crashes) and I have to start from the very first mission in all of them. Well, this must be a joke. You can not seriously want people to start the LASO Playlists and Legendary Playlists all from the beginning every time they dare to play another playlist. Am I wrong? Was it really planned this way? I googled for hours now but I can’t find anything on that. The latest Update unfortunately didn’t help
Please tell me if this is a bug that is about to get fixed or if it was meant to be like that.
If I’m understanding this correctly, that you played a playlist and finished at least one but not all levels in it, then went and finished at least one level in another playlist, but it’s not letting you pick up where you left off? Then that is an issue. Before how it worked was you would just lose the checkpoint of any level you had made progress in solo if you started playing another playlist. Then you could come back and resume playlist by restarting that level. This has been broken for me at least since the patch before this, where it won’t let me resume a playlist at the next level but wants me to restart the entire playlist. It never actually let you choose the level though.

Thanks for your help. I was wondering if I was just too stupid or if this was a bug. Unfortunately it’s a bug.
You can’t resume playlists/select (already completed) missions. Please, 343 Industries, fix this.
I played many hours of my life in these playlists and don’t want to start from scratch.
As far as I know, playlists need to be played from the start to the finish, in the order that the playlist presents them in. You can save and quit, and then come back and continue later on. That’s the whole point of a playlist, play levels off of a list.
If you just want to play specific levels, just go to the normal campaign section and select the level you want to play.
Maybe what they need to do is allow us to make a custom playlist where we can select any levels from all 4 games in any order we want, and possibly even save them to our file share.

You didn’t get the point. Look:
I’ve finished 12 of the 15 Halo 2 Levels in that specific halo 2 legendary playlist. The next day I was invited to play a little bit of Halo 1 in one of its playlists. So I did because the game told me I could go back to my Halo 2 Legendary Playlist. A few days later I wanted to finish the Halo 2 Legendary Playlist - in which I’ve played to Mission 12 before. But what’s going on here? YOU HAVE TO START RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING OF THAT PLAYLIST: MISSION 1. Allthough you can see that you have already completed 12 of the 15 playlist-missions, it just won’t let you continue where you’ve stopped. And that’s a MAJOR BUG in the MCC!!!
yup. i have to redo the LASO playlist after getting 8/15 through the whole thing. It CLEARLY states that when you come back to the playlist, you lose your checkpoint but you can resume the level. Problem is, you actually have to redo the whole playlist… 343 SERIOUSLY needs to fix this. no way am I doing SLASO over again…
Quick workaround:
You can resume the playlist in coop, so it resets your level progression to the beginning of the level you were on.
I did that for my LASO-playthrough in H4, but just 2 or 3 checkpoints later I’m in gamecrash territory again. Master Fail Collection strikes back.
This is ridiculous. I busted my -Yoink- doing a few missions of the Halo 2 LASO campaign, selected a different playlist, came back, and now I have to do the entire thing over again…? Are you -Yoinking!- serious? Someone at 343 needs to be aware of this
I was half way through the Master Chief Saga but now the playlist has reset to the first mission “Pillar of Autumn”, the levels I’ve done are showing as complete but I cant skip them.
I just got to Halo 4 in the Master Chief saga, saved and quit because I had to do some yard work. Came back, didn’t play any other playlist, started up the game and it wants me to go back to mission 2 of Halo CE. In the menus it says resume mission: Dawn, but when I hit resume, “Halo” from Halo CE begins to load. I literally spent around 9-10 hours getting to this point and now I’m getting the MCC’s faulty saving -Yoink-.

I just had this happen to me attempting to resume from Outskirts. 343 Please help!
This is the bug that drove me away from the Master Chief Collection in November of 2014. Matchmaking was still in almost complete disarray, so I decided to tackle the Master Chief Saga instead. I had progressed through a majority of the playlist when I encountered this bug. One day, when I selected resume, it began loading Pillar of Autumn instead of where I had last left off. It still showed my progress for the playlist, but would only let me start from the very beginning. I had not explored any other playlists or even played other game modes between sessions.
I just returned to the game in June and have only encountered a couple minor bugs since then. To be fair, I’ve mainly been sticking to the campaign tab rather than risking it with the playlists. Yesterday, I finally decided to give it another shot; I started and progressed halfway through the Halo 3: ODST LASO Non-Stop Action playlist with a group. We are planning to finish it together next weekend and I am nervous that we will be unable to resume on NMPD HQ.
Honestly, you really should be able to select your starting point from any previously completed levels within a specific playlist. Why that is not currently an option is totally beyond me.
