Campaign Overview Discussion

Tank enters the camera’s view.

“Do you see that? Could be useful. If you like that kind of thing.”

”Ooh, I like it.”

———————————————

Just finished watching the Campaign Preview, and what I saw has me stoked. Fantastic graphics, that one red gun we never saw in-game that apparently shoots like a rifle, and I even saw a thruster pack ability!

What did you all think of it?

What the hell is the harbinger? Is it cortana in an armiger or a random new addition to the lore?
Wheres the didact? Did blue team get dispatched to the ark?
SO MANY QUESTIONS!

It looks very fun, plenty of opportunity for epic moments unfolding across a gorgeous landscape.

At around 5 minutes in the same scenario as last year’s trailer is shown and it looks a lot better, as does Craig.

Looks like farcry meets Destiny, we ll see i suppose

It looks like an open world halo and not really anything else.

Right?! I mean come on, what about the Spirit of Fire or the Infinity, which were both “lost with all hands” before any of this happened? I’m so pumped for December.

It needs way more blood for a Halo game, literally my only complaint. The feedback while fighting alien enemies doesn’t look satisfying at all.

I am very excited to see Master Chief fighting the Banished in the upcoming Halo Infinite. At the same time, I am also very happy that the animations, visual effects and graphics in the Halo Infinite campaign overview looks so much better.

Kinda just looks like another Far cry/Assassins creed style bland open world with the same old objectives. Liberate this base, rescue these marines, hunt down these targets…
I hope i’m wrong because they have some fantastic missions to top from previous games.

I like it, it seems like there are many options to explore the world and upgrade the spartan and the visuals look great, besides we have only seen the same environment over and over.
However what just felt off in my opinion was the tone. Looks like there is no urgency or stakes, The Weapon and Chief making funny jokes all the time like they are unbeatable and all they are doing is too easy.

I find this Cortana 2.0 to be super annoying already, just like the spartan and AI chatter in Multiplayer. After literally growing up with Halo I do not want such chilldish dialogues, it completely destroys the immersion for me and does not match at all with the sense of urgency and high stakes they want to convey. I get that they want to cater to a new generation of players, but the Banished lends itself really nicely for a gritty story and I just can not imagine an expansion with the Flood down the road (because we’re on Zeta Halo after all) with this cringey uplifted vibe. Leave that in Fortnite please.

Agree completely here! What ever happened to the Military Sci Fi game that Halo used to be!

It looks like Halo: Breath of the Wild. Also it also appeared to be an RPG aspect with leveling up certain equipment or something. Not sure how I feel about the open world yet, I’ll try and see what I think. Still not a fan of explosion animations. When the tank fires off its shots it looks the same as the grenades, which look like gas tank explosions, and very flat. Explosions look bad in this game. Everything else looks pretty good though.

I’m confused… Cortana regularly cracks jokes throughout the entire original trilogy, along with the marines. The tone was serious when it needed to be, but Halo has always had a light hearted spirit outside of cut scenes.

Looks better than the first reveal, but not a lot of gameplay in this campaign gameplay overview tbh. We also have no idea if this was captured on PC or on Xbox Series X. Visuals are definitely improved though. That’s a w.

Side note on the graphics; while they are improved a bit, I still think those hexagon pillars look like hot kaka.

Sandbox seems like it will allow for crazy stuff. Big W.

The narration of this overview was weird. The emphasis on 117 representing hope is not something that should be put into words. It should become clear through whatever is happening. It’s like they’re so insecure about the franchise and it’s mainstream appeal that they think they need to spoonfeed everything to the audience.

Don’t really like the RPG aspect. Feels forced and not at home with this franchise.

Don’t care for new cortana, her dialogue is very child-like so far. Maybe that’s the point.

Most importantly though: game looks like fun.

I’m already in love with Cortana 2.0 xD shes just like a snarky little 8 year old!

“Maybe it’s a friend!”

I look forward to delving deeper into the story and seeing what it has to offer. regarding gameplay and graphics it made me very excited and satisfied. The game delay just made everything better, see you on December 8th. the only thing I ask is variety of missions and even weapons in the campaign.

I really don’t understand you, Halo fans always wanted a real open world, a la Halo CE mission 2: Halo.
Now that we are getting it. Many complain that it looks like a farcry/assassins creed/destiny mash up. Honestly, are you trolling?
I could say that Destiny looks like a mash up of Borderlands/Halo. And Far Cry is a Halo/CoD mash up… see what I did there.

Edit: If anything as someone pointed out, it’s more like JUST CAUSE.

It looks fantastic!!! Now my hype levels are through the -Yoinking!- roof.
