My PC is above the minimum requirements for Halo infinite. All was going well on the first missions but when I got to Zeta Halo my FPS just yanked to 20-30 fps (this happened even on low). Totally unplayable… I was excited to play this game but I guess it’s a skip and a refund.
Yeah there isn’t even a normal fullscreen option. In a AAA MS game in 2021. That’s like the most basic feature and game on a PC has. I’m almost certain that would help the stuttering and fps drop issues.
Same problem, send ticket they need to fix it soon
I was getting some gross frame issues on Series X as well during cutscenes, dipping to around 45 FPS while in 4K UHD 60.
Just imagine, glorious, wonderful Halo 3 chugged along at a mere 30 frames per second.
Its clearly not Optimized. First two levels were solid, suddenly tanked from level 3 onwards. 1% low even for RTX 2080ti is just 55 fps on 1080p Ultra preset. FIX THIS NOW.
Nah nah nah nah !! NAH NAH NAH NAH ! HEY Hey hey !! Goodbye !!!
PC master race?
The Campaign is far more hardware intensive than the MP is, why any PC player expected it to be buttery smooth is beyond me.
Just saying I was playing it on series x and looked incredible
5800x 3080 OC Strix, unlocked and uncapped frame rate in campaign I see 60 sometimes 70fps on ultra. I’m also on a Samsung Neo G9, 5120x1440. MP I see 90fps.
It sucks because Halo is the only game that does not like overclocking I have to set both my CPU and GPU to out of the box defaults.
It looks Pretty. but it isn’t some over the top graphics like how Crysis was. it looks demanding of 2016 or prior hardware. Its not a technical marvel based on its looks. People on crappy console won’t notice due to dynamic resolution. take that into consideration.
Hence this needs optimization. For now instant refund for me.
Because some of us spend a lot of money on our PC and we expect to be able to achieve a certain level of performance through having video settings.
Yeah I always get 50fps even if I’m at low or high at 1080p, I hope they work on optimisation in updates.
I have a newly built ryzen 9 5900x and a rtx 3080 PC and am not able to play the outside area of campaign without nauseating stutters and tears. You would think that 80-100fps would yield good performance, but it does not. Doesn’t matter if I set the resolution to 4k or 1080 it is still bad. Gsync isn’t even able to help this games trash performance. It may have to do with the fact that I am unable to achieve my tvs native 4k resolution and 120hz. The engine must have a problem adjusting to anything that does not equal the cap of the gear it’s being played on.
It seems to be a memory leak issue that rears its ugly head after a couple of hours, and given that Forza Horizon 5 had very similar memory leak/framerate issues on PC that was fixed in a patch within a couple of weeks/a month of release, it’s likely it’ll get patched and fixed. It’s not ideal and it is a bit disappointing, but I’m not a game developer and am not going to try to lay blame, particularly given how hard remote development would have been.
I’ve had it large-scale graphical texture glitches happen twice out of the 3 sessions I’ve had on it, and I have a 3080, a 5900x, 32GB of ram, and running on an SSD. For now, I’ll just play for a couple of hours, and then play something else until it’s patched.
it’s pretty poorly optimised, I agree. I don’t think they will fix it.
Just to give somewhat of an update. I originally installed this game via game pass but I’ve always had problems with it crashing during multiplayer. No issues with any other areas of the game. Campaign, training mode, academy. Just multiplayer kept crashing, mainly loading into a game but often it would crash during a game. Read online that turning off overlays and overclocks would help, but that really didn’t help. I would get 2 maybe 3 games in and it’ll go back to crashing during loading into the game. So I uninstalled the game and downloaded it through steam and now I have no issues with multiplayer at all. I can even use my GPU OC settings of +135Mhz core and +1150Mhz memory. I recently downloaded Halo again through game pass just so I can play the campaign but, that will crash with my OC after about 10-15 mins of gameplay. I’m tempted to just purchase the campaign from Steam to see if it’ll still crash.
I’m convinced that the issues with Halo are exclusive to the game pass version, especially after being able to play multiplayer flawlessly from the Steam version. I also find it very odd that with Halo 4 from MCC (game pass version) I can get over 300fps in campaign but in Halo Infinite I can barley scratch 70fps. Halo Infinite does not look that much better than Halo 4.
Halo 4 was designed to run at Xbox 360 specifications, and Halo Infinite is this generation’s Crysis right now. Aside from how it looks, one could run on my toaster and one can barely run on anything that isn’t a console, and even those aren’t well optimized.
I know that, but for a “this generation” game I should be getting over 70fps in single player with a 3080.
Oh absolutely, nobody disagrees with that and neither do I. I was just trying to clarify why Halo 4 runs inherently better.
