I can’t hear any voices from the NPC’s in the game. Cutscenes ok, but not in the gameplay. Of cause I can turn on the subtitles, but that really doesn’t cut it.
Anybody with the same problem and maybe a fix (yes, I have checked in the settings that my sound output is only stereo).
I have the same issue, I think this is fault of “intelligent title delivery”. To be sure if we have the same issue tell me if you use digital or disc version of the game, on which console, and your xbox system language. And if you have a disc, where do you bought it (country). That can be also important I think. Can explain why if you want.
I already wrote a topic here on the forum, you can check that out if you want to be clear that we have the same problem. https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/e0d9938206f04a598ce84f2c8cadce02/topics/language-issue-after-last-update-8th-november-17/6c787560-a0a0-4437-9031-01cb29b7ca26/posts
Thanx for answering. It’s the disc version from UK, english language played on Xbox one X.
Interesting. So it’s not only problem of russian language as I thought. Maybe it’s problem only of disc versions, If I only got a possibility to download it from store that I can confirm my thoughts. And we must try to install the game on ours old xbox to be sure if that problem of Xbox one X version, but I already sold mine xbox one s :(. Maybe you could do that? I’ll be grateful you.
Hi, I have the exact same problem in Switzerland. I bought the game oneline. I don’t know what to do neither.
I have the same problem in Poland. Xbox one X.
Yes, it’s a problem with the language and I found a fix: change your language in the settings, restart the xbox, reboot Halo 5 and it will ask if your want to download the english language pack, download it and viola…your have voices back in the game.
Ok I’ll try but I don’t want english language pack
Hagemann was right, if you change your language of system into english - reboot console and launch Halo 5, the game will offer you to download english pack. The game will be in english!!! If you after will change your system language to your language (in my case is russian) and try to run the game, the game will not offer to you download Russian language pack, it will runs with russian text and subtitles but in english dubbing.
Now I’m trying to do opposite of that: Install the from USA region and after that change to Russian region and language and run the game, I’m curious if the game will offer to me download russian language pack, see what will happen.
P.S. Guys AbatedSugar4998 and Jazzylistic give us more information about your issue (Console, language of system, what was before and now etc.), thank you
So here I am. I set up English region and language on my console, and I installed Halo 5 from the disc, after install changed region to Russia and Russian language but no success, the game runs on English with Russian subtitles. The game didn’t offer to me install Russian language pack. I hope somebody from 343 Industries will see that post and react on it. But there’s an interesting thing about HDD storage. Before update it was 109gb after tiny update it was 97.3gb. If you don’t have voices in your game and you install language pack, it will be around 98gb, but if you will download it from American (English) marketplace, the game will have voices of characters and will have 97.2gb. That’s something weird.
Thanks for the solution! I have the same problem and im from Portugal. I just have one question… Do i have to uninstall the game file from my console?
Go into settings and make sure you have the proper settings for sound turned on.
Something even weirder happens to mine. I’m from Spain, but bought a Portuguese disc and:
First, no voices while playing, then changed language to UK English, the same problem. Then changed to USA English, voices worked.
Changed back to Spanish: English voices, Spanish subtitles.
Changed to Mexican Spanish: Mexican voices working!!!
Changed to Portuguese (disc cover language) ALL the game in English, even the menu!!!
So how is it possible that Mexican Spanish works, but Spanish from Spain doesn’t, and Portuguese is a complete fail?
Edit:
Also I have the option to install the game again, using game pass, besides the disc installation. So if I had enough space I’d had two halo 5 tiles, despite the game pass allows me to play the disc installation without inserting it.
I’ve changed my language settings from English (Canada) to English (US), restarted, launched Halo 5, and still no fix. No prompt to download a language pack, and searching in store/add-ons yields nothing. I changed my settings back to (Canada), rinse and repeat, and still nothing.
Reinstalling did nothing. Beyond frustrated now that I’ve spent hours installing/reinstalling, on top of time spent trying to resolve the problem with the other methods.
FIX: take the halo disk out and uninstall the game, place the disk back in and it will start installing and will fix this issue
Please don’t revive old topics thanks
