Please tell me I’m missing something here… is this basic feature not in the game? Even the budget Spartan Assault has some level of co-op matchmaking, not to mention many other Halo titles have this.
It seems like around every corner, this game doesn’t feel finished.
Campaign matchmaking never really works out for me. I always get stuck with people that quit, sit there, or just do dumb -Yoink-. I would much rather grab a friend or ask on these boards if anyone wants to play.
Many others had it? I only remember it in Reach, and usually put me with trolls. I find it much better to pair up with friends or family or search the forum for someone to play with.
It is quite unfortunate. They spend all this time making a campaign that has the advantage of dedicated servers, but they don’t put in matchmaking to get the most use out of it. Seriously, peer-to-peer connection in past titles was always a huge detriment to co-op experience, but now that things are better in H5 I have no one to play with…
It’s really funny how Frank O Connor said there was no matchmaking for campaign because it is better playing alongside their smart AI teammates instead of online trolls.
but my god those AI teammates are the biggest trolls I’ve ever played with.

The logic there doesn’t make any sense: what’s the difference between campaign and Warzone/Arena? If anything, the stakes are lower in the campaign. People can troll you anywhere.
