Campaign - Mid-Long Range Enemies Low Frame Rate

Hey everyone -

I’m loving Guardians so far.

But I’m wondering if you’re seeing the same thing I am: enemies that are somewhat far away (i.e. not right in front of you, but on the other side of a room or further) seem to have incredibly low frame rates. The move in a jerky manner and the animation isn’t smooth at all. The same behavior occurs during their shooting/death animations. It looks like sub-10 FPS. Up close, the animations appear fine.

It’s pretty jarring when you’re zoomed in with a DMR, for example. I’m surprised to see this, especially when Halo 4 didn’t have this issue and I’ve never seen a AAA game behave this way.

Did anyone else notice this?

Steve

Any ideas?

The issue seems to be less pronounced on Mission 8.

It has been shown to be true most likely to maintain the overall fps. It is kinda hard to notice in my opinion unless you are actively looking for it, and perhaps the less demanding missions allow the game more breathing room to animate the enemies.

Yep. If they’re like 10+ meters away, they’re like 30 fps. Maybe even lower. They remind me of the 2D people in Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. Lol
Not just AI; players too. Any character model.

lots of games do it to save frames
