Wouldn’t it be cool if you had a load-out,after you beat the campaign,(for the campaign, because of balancing issues for multiplayer)to increase replay ability, while including all past halo game weapons variations like all the pistols and brs and dmrs and assault rifle variation.
Would be great for repeatability… but doubtfully this new idea would cause the sandbox and memory, to be cluttered with unessential data. I didn’t say this idea was useless, because it is a really good idea, but this idea over a fully capable multiplayer… I think fans will agree core mechanics come first, and have to be nailed, then we looked at some excitingly new features.
But anyway the best way to do this would be to use the same aim assist, bloom, damage etc. for the same component weaponry… this way it doesn’t mess with the core game play of Halo Xbox One’s campaign, and essentially is just a new/old model of the weapon, with no statistic changes, and has a purely ascetic appearance change.
Example:
Assault Rifle:
Models - MA3, MA37, MA5B, MA5K, MA5C, MA5D…
So the loadout would have six different models to choose from… some may have a flash light, some a scope? Could be good for an Easter Egg hunting… like hiding a skull in a really dark spot, and having to shine a flash light to find it?
Although I will say this perhaps your ‘loadout’ system doesn’t need to be limited to starting weaponry, or even old past weapons? Perhaps players could start with an over-powered Rocket Launcher or Incineration Cannon… sort of like how Halo: Spartan Assault allows you to use the OP weaponry for a cost of credits?
So, like im Black ops 2 where you can choose your primary, secondary, grenades and perks in the Campaign lobby?
If so, yes.
Yes, i would want this.
Also, make the retro guns available in custom games.
Someone at 343 knows approximately what percentage of players would actually use that, and they know how many developers it would take to create it. My guess is, unless this is integral to the game, it’s going to be way too expensive to fund. Would be neat, but I hardly consider it worth the extra dev/qa expenses.
I wouldnt mind a more RPG element to the campaign. Like similar to how Bf4 does it.
They also need to bring back the meta-scoring. Why they didn’t for 4 is beyond me.

Those Yoinking time constraints…
Also they could do it in forge totally agree on having it in custom games
I implied that they should not do it for online multiplayer, for balancing, i wan’t them to focus on bringing dual wielding back because if Sarah Palmer can dual wield pistols so can Chief but that my opinion and for another thread.
but anyway halo 2’s pistol and halo 1’s op one would be so cool think of what people in forge could do with those bad boys it would be a very worthy addition to custom games,i do like what you said on the flashlight hunting for skulls but why not include the flashlight like in past halo games where it is just a toggle on and off from the d-pad?
Yes kinda like black ops 2 because i actually liked that you could use a gun from the past black ops game in black ops 2 and it would be so cool if you could do that in halo but choose from a lot of other weapons from past halo games but i think they should do it after you beat the campaign and it should be unobtrusive like loadouts are in halo 4, it could be helpful on legendary and would add more variety and mix things up while you shoot your way out.
And if they did this right it would not mess with core weaponry because they are just using past weapon damage traits bottom line though it is not necessary it is just an idea
