Campaign Levels - What's your own whishlist?

Here is a list of the campaign missions for Halo 4 SinglePlayer:

INTRO

  1. Wake up Chief
  2. The trap
  3. Requium
  4. The UNSC Infinity
  5. Give 'em hell
  6. More of them
  7. New revelations
  8. The traitors
  9. Ride of the Demon
  10. No Escape
  11. Gamma Halo
  12. The new plan
  13. Status Quo Show
EXTRO (at least not a total cliffhanger ending :stuck_out_tongue: )

Playtime: around 9-10 hours w/o SpartanOps.

… sure it is my own list // whishlist.
And I don’t explain what I mean with the titles; some are more clear some not… :stuck_out_tongue:

Let me hear your ideas.
(I also hope noone will spoiler the real list, until the game is out)

I would really like a level that includes a Vulture or two, and tons of enemy forces. Similar to the Falcon ride on Tip of the Spear, but much longer and with much more enemies.

I don’t really have any ideas, but yours sound cool.

A level inspired from Delta Halo would be fantastic. I loved that level with its old ruin look and vibe.

+1

Delta Halo is my favorite mission in all Halo Games. (Well Delta Halo and the following one… I think it was called ā€œthe prophetā€ or something).

I always like sunny, nice, paradise like places (but not only in a game, to have some changes).
And the ruins remember me a bit to Gunman: Chronicles. Epic.
I also like the part where you find the lake with this huge skybox and the ruins. Awesome feeling.

In Halo 3 my favorite missions are the two longer ones on the arc. (I think it was ā€œthe arcā€ and ā€œthe covernantā€).

I need a lot of sun; if i play games like ā€œfearā€ i need to make a break after each level to put a headlight in my face. Halo was the first game w/o that :stuck_out_tongue:

So iam a bit worried about they said: halo 4 will be darker… hope 343i don’t mean the light.
I hope also for an island mission or something like that (similar to halo CE, where you have the freedom to roam around the whole island).

Well… back to Halo 4: I think the screenshots of the desert level and the artwork were very promising. The E3 demo mission looked to standard to me: jungle was in halo 3 already.

Something like the Hornet scenes from ā€œThe Covenantā€

I loved those!!!

I also would want a campaign level where I pilot something like the Mech from Halo: Legends

EDIT: Also, maybe a mission where you can choose your own path. Like, you need to get to an objective, but you pick if you wanna, say, Ride head-on into the area with a Warthog, Pilot a Hornet after the Anti-Air is down and give Air-support or provide Sniper support to ground forces.

> I also would want a campaign level where I pilot something like the Mech from Halo: Legends

I heard that playing a mech in campaign is as good as confirmed. Check the sticky topic ā€œnothing but factsā€.

Sounds like good old times of ā€œreturn fireā€.
I mean: Yeah, more freedom for some parts where epic.

In Halo 3 in the level ā€œthe covenantā€ where you have to fight these 2 scarabs… I sometimes stay in the tank and dont take the hornet. But ive the feeling: triggers and AI dont support my decision. (They want you in the Hornet).
I dont like these: TAKE THIS VEHCILE NOW-thing.

There should be places with more empty vehicles and you can choose which you take, or if you take one.
And you get supported in your decision by AI and so on.

hope 343i is going that way…

assault on the control room was fav. u were constanly switching between enviroments inside forunner structures and snowy land scapes and then up on the bridges. absoltley loved it. i think it makes the experience more enjoyable because ur not completely stuck in the same scenery during the level.

snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level, snow level…Its pretty obvious. I loved Quarantine Zone, Assault on the Control Room, and Two Betrayals. Shame H3 or Reach didn’t have tru snow levels.

I’d like one sad, muddy, rainy mission. Tall grass, thunder Scorpion tanks rolling by. Aaah gives me the chills just to think about it

A ā€œTruth and Reconciliationā€ styled level would be interesting. I always liked the dark and purple aspect to it.

> A ā€œTruth and Reconciliationā€ styled level would be interesting. I always liked the dark and purple aspect to it.

I think in one trailer were some covenant-surroundings visable. So may be we will get something like that (but i dunno if it was campaign).

Man, you write 1-2 lines but I can already imagine the whole scenario. Would be epic. Because Scorpions by rain and thunder in the mud… it has this special thing on it → like you feel the [desperate?] power of everything. Also it would be a great ā€œwar-surroundingā€ add on for halo which is still missing.

I like your idea. Because nothing like this was in the Halo games yet. (only parts of it,… at most…)
Hope 343i listen to your idea.

~Working-Good-Ideas are not only good, they are short, too.~ :stuck_out_tongue:

I want a level where I drive an elephant through multiple enemies and then along the way see 1 or two scarrabs.

You can give my script a quick read through if you want. I’m only at Mission Six as of now, but I’m culling influence from all across the Halo franchise.

Halo 3 last mission: Halo

> EDIT: Also, maybe a mission where you can choose your own path. Like, you need to get to an objective, but you pick if you wanna, say, Ride head-on into the area with a Warthog, Pilot a Hornet after the Anti-Air is down and give Air-support or provide Sniper support to ground forces.

I’d like that as long as there are enemy forces that spawn based on the vehicle of your choosing.

None of the choices should have an easy bypass. It is tragic that I can hijack a Ghost at Journey’s End (on The Covenant) and skip the entire vehicle segment. It just makes the level feel small.

On the other hand, this would be a deviation from Halo as skipping through levels is more than often encouraged.

I hate when there’s no support for other vehicles. The H3 Banshee was a victim of this. When players saw that the enemy Banshee fuel rod could home in and found ways to hijack it, I bet they were met with great disappointment to find that it was suicide driving it.

The H3 hog run was more generous but I hated that we couldn’t get a Ghost unless on 4 player Co-op Legendary.

> Shame H3 or Reach didn’t have tru snow levels.

So true. Exploration was suppressed.

The only fun thing I remember doing on H3’s last level is getting Arbiter to fight armies of Flood and watching him get sent really high up.

I love rain! I can already see the opening cinematic!

The exploration and tricking potential on that level was immense. It is really impressive seeing tutorials like the one by Xlax007. His skull guide really knows how the level works. 7:59 is the best part.

Agreed. Halo was immersive.

Dont know but i liked halo 2 sub plots mission it maked you play more

It was just a great level from start to finish in my mind anyway. I hope they recapture some of its essence in one of the Halo 4 levels.

Warthog level on the top of the Infinity. Nuff said.
