Campaign length?

Campaign length? how long should it be.
I have been playing through all the campaigns from the previous halos(not in order per say)
and So far as i can tell Halo 4 is quite long.
Halo CE has ten missions
Halo 2 has Fifteen missions
Halo 3 Has ten missions
Halo 4 Has Eight missions, ten including prologue and Epilogue.
And While The amount of missions that halo 4 has seems short, the game is on average longer then halo 3. So far as i have seen playing them.
My question is How long would you guys like halo 5 to be.
Personally I like the length and feel of halo four, though i would like to see a longer campaign.

In my dream of dreams I would love to see a halo campaign 20 plus hours long. Will that happen? Probably not. But considering we have to wait 3 years for a main halo campaign every time, I want halo 5 to be the longest.

Hell make locks campaign 10 missions
Master chief’s campaign 10 missions
and for awsome fun times
Arbiter’s campaign 10 missions

If this were to happen I would be very happy.

I mean I would like a longer campaign but i don want something that drags on. I hope that the amount of development has given them ample time to craft a lengthy and engaging Campaign. thought 20 hr is pushing it. 10-12 hrs would be nice.

I really want something that is long and interesting all at once, i’d like a story line maybe 20 hr’s but for it to remain interesting the whole time and not drag on. Who know’s maybe they could pull out a 30 hr campaign and make it interesting the whole way through, 343 can actually make a pretty interesting story line.

I think 30 hrs is a bit excessive for a campaign. But then an i guess that the time might be relative to the user, I tend to play slow and steady, as well as looking for all Easter eggs, and things of that nature(while not spending to much time) So to me the halo 4 campaign takes me about 6-10 hours depending on how i play.
30 hrs seems a bit long I mean nothings to long if its done well. But idk if 343 has enough time to create something that long.

I would say Halo 2.
Anyway it’s strange that the HCE missions seems to (me) longer than H3 missions.

Longer is better in terms of the campaigns. About thirty hours is enough for me.

Halo has the potential to have 12-25 hour campaign. There’s definitely enough story elements for that with 2 playable characters.

I hope that it’s going to have a really long campaign, this game will seriously need one.

It’ll need to be detailed, not repetitive (Looking at you Halo 4) and in general just really fun to play. If 343 screws this up, Halo will be dead.

Well, let’s see…how about adding in the 50 Spartan Ops missions for Halo 4…you know, the “second campaign.” It usually takes me…I think about 20-30 minutes to complete one of those solo on Legendary?

Campaign length is really subjective. After all, aren’t you supposed to be able to finish all four Halo campaigns in the MCC in under three hours each?

I’ve got to say, though, the main campaigns do feel like they’re getting shorter…

Halo CE [Ten missions], including Assault on the Control Room, Two Betrayals, Truth and Reconciliation, Keyes and The Library as rather long levels.
Halo 2 [13 missions + Tutorial + Cutscene]…the only level that stood out for having a long length for me was Gravemind.
Halo 3 [9 missions + Cutscene]…Tsavo Highway, The Storm, The Ark and the Covenant seemed to have decent lengths. Spending any time in the mission Cortana was…bad.
Halo ODST [9 missions + Freeroam + Cutscene]…No long missions here, although you could spend basically any amount of time you wanted on the streets of Mombassa at night.
Halo Wars [15 missions + 2 Tutorials]…most of these took about half an hour or more…one notable exception was “Repairs” which took only a couple of minutes.
Halo Reach [9 missions + Cutscene + Lone Wolf]…depending on how you played, playtimes varied considerably in length.
Halo 4 [8 missions + 2 Cutscene]…Shutdown’s length could be shortened considerably with a shortcut. Midnight was long, as was Forerunner. The other missions didn’t seem too long, and “Dawn” was short.
Halo 4 Spartan Ops [50 missions]…long, repetitive and dull on solo Legendary. There were a handful of really good ones, though. Most people I think just forget about these.
Halo Spartan Assault [35 missions]…short missions, long campaign.

Given the fact that Halo 5’s seems to have numerous concepts brewing even with superficial knowledge of the campaign, i’d say it has to be about 15 hours or longer.
At least, I hope it is.

You seriously expect a THIRTY hour campaign? If it’s half that long I will be impressed.

What AAA, multiplayer focused shooter in recent memory has had a campaign that long?

I feel like halo 5 will have as much if not more amount of missions than halo

It was 343’s first game. You can’t tell me Halo CE wasn’t repetitive. Walking the same looking corridors (Silent Cartographer and The Library). Also no halo won’t die if the campaign doesn’t please everyone. ODST didn’t please everyone but halo didn’t die.

I feel all the other campaigns are much longer I have almost completed the halo 3 missions while im still only 5-7 missions through everything else.

I agree But i think there is more then that. The developing of the “extra” level takes time and money I could imagine, even since CE they have wanted to make longer games but they are on a timeline and often have to cut things short, Halo 2/3 Are essentially supposed to be one game.

This is true I dont find enjoyment of playing halo Solo on legendary, So my play through would be much shorter then yours depending.

But i completely disagree with the statement that halo is getting shorter and shorter.

Missions i think will be similar but the length of those missions im not so sure about.
