I was watching the E3 campaign gameplay today for the Battle of Sunion. While the level was largely the same, I couldn’t help but see all of these things like scanning chief’s assault rifle and giving your squad individual commands. There was that feeling that you were chasing down the chief, and some of the dialogue was centered around that as well. This has become a common trend in video games, where there is a beefed up E3 showing with a level that is altered from what you see in game. Hell, you chief doesn’t even go to Sunion in game (I’m probably spelling that wrong) Imagine how much better the game would have been if there were just a few mentions that you were chasing down chief during the levels? Such a small thing that keeps your mind on track instead of wondering what you are doing.
Keep in mind, I loved the Halo 5 campaign overall, but these deceptive trailers and gameplay videos to simply get people to buy the game are getting a bit old, and I feel as though with just a small amount of effort in the script, the game could have been so much better in portraying “the hunt.” You could very well tell that parts of the game were just taken out, especially in some of the cut-scenes.
They were chasing down chief when they were at sunion… They got word of a guardian that was there… I mean come on the game ended with the hunt being completed… Did you even pay attention?
This is game is not a trilogy, it is a saga. The story is going to move at a slower pace then what you remember. New players are being developed with new concepts. Halo 6 is going to be amazing.

I can imagine large scale battles against Guardians and new forerunner vehicles. Maybe even a new UNSC air vehicles. Or just fly a pelican… LOL

My post had nothing to do with whether or not I understood the story, it was that the story beats could have been much better as showcased in the trailer. In the campaign, chief and blue team were kept on Genesis and never set foot on Sunion. Osiris was using it to get another guardian in order to find him and “bring him home’.” My argument is that they could have kept up the “hunt” theme and gone with the concept of the trailer. Which in a way they were, but there wasn’t much dialogue to reinforce that. Again, my argument isn’t that there wasn’t a hunt, but that the hunt was half-baked in many ways and could have easily been more compelling.
The E3 did make the game look more like a Hunter/Hunted kind of story, but it was deceptive. It’s irritating how people let Halo 5 campaign get away because Halo 6 will be supposedly amazing. That’s exactly what Halo 5 should’ve been, but we ended up with a last minute changed Halo 5 story that had nothing to do with an actual hunt.
Got a link to a trailer that was particularly deceptive to you? I guess I simply disagree.

He said they were tracking Chief and found his assault rifle on Sunion, which obviously couldn’t be true.
