That is literally halos 20th birthday

"Space man with magic armor shoots laser bullets at bad guy who is like the OG bad guy with different colors, but not friends with the other (good) guy who is like the OG bad guy with different colors too."

Not to undermine the writers, but it’s Halo. There is a basic Buck Rogers plot with various dark twisted subplots. That’s what you’d expect.

The UNSC is in bad shape fighting the banished and the Created

Something heavily damages zeta Halo

Chief is floating in space and becomes buddies with brohammer

New cortana is meant to draw out OG cortana and delete her, then delete herself… clearly neither worked out

Chief and brohammer crash land on the ring and have to take out some AA Canons

Big boy brute bad guy seems to want Master Chief as his final fight

The banished are working with someone/something

That’s all we really know at the moment

Yep, Halo CE 20th anniversary.
We’ll probably see it then.

I imagine this is when the marketing campaign will ramp up too as Forza Horizon 5 will be over a week old by then.

Its not zero info, we’ve had several trailers and a gameplay demo, just as much as we got for any other halo game. Halo 3 didn’t get any campaign footage shown at all until 2 months before it launched. They said before gamescom they would show campaign again before launch, and we haven’t seen anything since then, so you can assume between now and December 8th we’ll see something else. Most likely on November 15th like people have said. 15th isn’t just Halo’s 20th anniversary, it’s also Xbox’s, and Microsoft do seem to be planning something for it.

343i said a while back they’ll be showing campaign before launch. It’s likely we’ll see that on November 15th as that is Xbox & Halo’s 20th birthday - there’ll be a livestream going on that day to commemorate the occasion.

There won’t be any new games being shown but we’ll likely get updates on games we already know are coming. A Halo Infinite campaign update on Halo’s birthday is pretty likely.

hope so, i think i’ve seen enough mp stuff.

Yup, bring on the campaign details. We have been waiting since 2015.

I could only assume that they are trying to further refine things as they had some minor backlash from some testers. They probably want things to look really good before they put anything else out to us. Also, like everyone said a good way to hype it up is to release that info on Nov. 15th.

Still a bad sign, because it they were ready to show some major good stuff on the campaign they could have done so ages ago but they clearly focus on MP first, so I expect the campaign to become available in, well, like Episodes (remember Half-Life 2 episodes?). If this is the case, I am done with Halo.

At the 20th anniversary on the 15th Nov we are supposed to be getting more content

I hope im wrong but i honestly feel like 343 are more concerned about making halo a multiplayer spectacle and have spent all there time and effort on multiplayer and not on campaign! Halo 5 campaign felt like a rushed mess and what annoys me is 343 leaves so much out of the campaigns and expects everyone to feed there marketing machine and buy all there books to fill in massive gaps in the games! It shouldnt be like this at all and needs to stop! And yes lack of campaign footage is concerning makes you think they just see it as less important than multiplayer! And you can see why!.. multiplayer will bring them more money! Its free to play yes but like fortnite and splitgate etc they will make way more cash on multiplayer due to people purchasing skins and battle passes etc! And i worry 343 only care about marketing and milking the life out of the halo franchise!

First of all, nobody (to my knowledge) at 343 has said November 15th is when we’ll be getting SP info, so all the people defending that date as a good time to release SP info is somewhat absurd. But let’s pretend that is the release date for the sake of argument. Here are some reasons holding back SP info until then has been, and will be, a horrible idea.

  • People continue to reference Halo 3, and past halo games, as some sort of defense for 343’s lack of SP info. Frankly, it doesn’t matter to me how a different studio marketed a different game 15 years ago. 343 isn’t Bungie. 2021 isn’t 2007. For better or worse, marketing campaigns have changed, and in 2021, it is decidedly abnormal for a studio producing a triple-A title to hold back info to the degree 343 is right now - especially when that studio is being so boisterously vocal about other aspects of the game (MP, obviously). Unheard of? No. Abnormal? Yes. And generally speaking, when info is withheld, it does not portend good things, but rather bad ones. The degree to which the withholding of info portends bad things becomes stronger the longer info is withheld. The same goes for community skepticism regarding the final product. There is a reason review embargoes are generally seen as a sign of problems for film or video games. Is there a 1:1 correlation between films/games being bad and up-to-the-last-minute review embargoes? No. But there is a correlation nonetheless. For those of us who’ve been around long enough to know the significance of November 15th, the date may seem reasonable, but for most people, essentially embargoing info until just over 3 weeks before release is going to look mighty suspicious, and not without good reason. - What 343 is doing is not merely withholding campaign info. If that were the case, they might say something like, “Hey guys, get ready for November 15th, because that’s gonna be our big campaign reveal!” No, what 343 is doing is almost refusing to acknowledge the campaign exists, except where absolutely necessary, such as listing it for sale online. A product worth marketing should have its arrival heralded, even if the product itself is kept secret until then. But 343 seems almost to be trying desperately to lessen expectations regarding the final product by keeping it out of sight, out of mind. - 343’s lack of SP info comes against the backdrop of a string of failures regarding campaign (not to mention turnover in key dev positions). Halo 4 is generally regarded as a strong, but deeply flawed (particularly with regards to the gameplay mechanics) first SP outing. Spartan Ops was repetitive. Guardians was abysmal. The SP demo at E3 2020 became a meme (and people still, for some reason, reference this footage as a defense of 343, as if to equate that footage in scope or importance or quality to what we’ve gotten with regards to multiplayer in the year since then). When E3 2021 became (almost) exclusively about multiplayer, people said SP footage would be released at Gamescom. When Gamescom became exclusively about multiplayer, rumors said there would be big news after the flights. But then that turned out to be things like what we saw this past week: giveaways none of us are likely to win. And now people say it will be November 15th, because it is the 20th anniversary of Halo. But folks, guess what… - November 15th IS WHEN THE GAME SHOULD HAVE LAUNCHED. Launching a game in the second week of December is already regarded by many to be a desperation play - the date you release a game when you simply HAVE to release it before the year’s out. From a sales perspective, November 15th would have been a perfect time to release the game, which should come as no surprise, since it is the 20th anniversary of when another massively popular game first launched. Once again, such a late release does not mean the game is doomed, but it does not portend good things (Cyberpunk, anyone?). But once again, anytime people ask for more info about the SP experience, which is a completely reasonable ask for the reasons listed above, there is this strangely angry and vocal group on social media that defends November 15th, as if this was an announced date for an info release - as if 343 can be trusted regarding their complete silence over SP - as if November 15th were a reasonable time to stop embargoing info - as if we weren’t told before that campaign info was coming soon. I could go on, but this post is long enough as is.TLDR: 343 has a sketchy-at-best reputation for campaign-building. There are several ominous signs regarding the Infinite campaign’s development, and 343 should listen to people asking for info, and stop ignoring the campaign. Even if they show us nothing, they should respond to people’s legitimate concerns. A couple lines in a blog post from August isn’t enough.

Also, to clarify, I am not saying people who are fine with the Nov. 15 date are absurd. I’m not trying to flame anyone, and frankly, I wish I were fine with that date as well. But 343 just hasn’t given me good reason, as I have said, to trust their silence.

Also this is my first post in these forums, even though I’ve been lurking here since they started. As you can likely tell, when I open my mouth, I’m long-winded, so I usually try to stay silent, but my aggravation on this topic has reached a tipping point. Anyhow, if I don’t post again, I wish you all the best.

Get Ready.
