Campaign Ideas

Just a thread about some of our ideas on how the Campaign will play out and gameplay will be story affected.

  • Slowly gain MP spartan abilities for Locke Metroid style. (Mostly because I feel the Spartans will be pretty damn overpowered at the start.)- MC won’t have any of these due to being AWOL, and being outdated.- Campaign will switch characters, in the style of Halo 2.- Intro Level starts with MC.
  1. I don’t like the idea of unlocking Spartan abilities throughout the game…

  2. How do you know MC won’t have these abilities? He could have gotten an upgrade before he left.

  3. I can agree with you on this.

  4. This could go either way. The only thing that makes me feel like it’ll be MC rather than Locke is to not turn off any players by immediately putting them in someone else’s shoes.

Why don’t you like unlocking abilitites? It’s a cool idea.

  1. Guess I could have explained this a lot more. More of the likes that Locke will start with the basic sprint, smart scope, clamber, but maybe halfway or at the end of his first level he (and his crew of other spartans I presume for co-op purposes) gain the thruster pack as how Chief did in Composer( or whatever that space station level was called in H4.) This could be done to avoid the Covenant being complete punks in firefights at first to establish some sort of threat, especially with the ground pound move which seems like it would be great for easily taking out squads of grunts. However this can all be easily negated if 343 changes up the Covenant to adapt to this, and the Prometheans.

  2. My guess for that would be to establish a big difference between Chief and Locke. Locke being a brand new spartan IV, and the successor to the Spartan 2’s. Cheif being the the complete opposite of that obviously. This idea also comes from how Chief and Arbiters difference in H2 was the that Arbiter could cloak and Chief only got a flashlight (not counting the envy skull.)

-Telling marines and low ranking spartans what to do on the battlefield!
“Guard this spot/ Move forward/ Follow me/ etc…”
They are outrageous in a firefight almost all the time; getting shot and doing zip about it, driving vehicles into walls, keeping them alive is a pain!

-Calling in strikes and ODST support.
They still exist right? Not everyone is cut out to be a Spartan…

Dude, it would still be cool to command people and tell them what to do. And marines are deadly with the right weapons. I always give them my best stuff.

Agreed

Seriously I really wish they would keep Spartan ops but Work on better more immersive game play (IE more connect not cut scene then gameplay that has next to nothing to do with them) They could have all these options as well as Ordinance, during the middle of missions more kill better Ordinances, Maybe even Oh dare i say kill streaks(broad sword bomb strikes, mac canon orbital strikes, Call in odst/spartan back up,) Heck even ad a Bleeding out mechanic For coop so that you dont “DIE” this promote team play (maybe have it worth extra points to revive some one, and if you want you can opt with button press to just die and respawn but with penalty to your score)
i think these features would be great

I like how you think Trix Rabbit.

  • You should be able to start off with Spartan abilities.- You should get a chance to play as both enemies and Spartans.- (Campaign is my favorite!)

NO KILLSTREAKS.
