I think that Halo 4 really messed up the light hearted moments Halo was known for. The IWHBYD skull gave some amazing lines to the covenant and UNSC troops in Halo 2 and 3, but Halo 4 never captured that kind of humor. Its IWHBYD skull wasn’t really that funny. I think that Halo 5 could record some additional lines for the covenant in English for the IWHBYD skull or even just in the main game. It would feel so good to hear grunts scream, “leader is dead! Run away!” again.

They could even make it canon with an on board translation suite in the mjolnir helmets.
The things the NPCs said with that skull on we’re pretty funny, especially the Elites.
Halo really excelled with that NPC humor, yeah? I miss it and hope it returns–if not with allies, then with the other co-op characters? In respect to the enemies: There’s no reason for the opposing Covenant not to speak English when MJOLNIR is equipped with translation software. I understand that Halo needs to be dark, but it can do that with the addition of some little humorous banter.
Hopefully they bring back English speaking Grunts and Elites.

YEAH! and they must also give us the H2/3 marines aestetic style back, it would be weird to get back funny lines without cool marines

To be honest, I liked the “Wort Wort Wort” Elites. English speaking elites felt a bit of in Halo 2. And this dialect made it sound like they were going to sing Hakuna Matata.

Oh god yes I want the humor back in Halo. That was easily my biggest complaint about Halo 4. Lack of humor and all melodrama is no Fun.

In 2006, me and a few of my ally Elites were running into one of the hardest battles in Halo 2, when one of them looked at me and said “it’s good to get exercise :P” I honestly laughed for 5 straight minutes. I just thought WTH?
It was… The biggest thing making Halo’s campaign stand out from other story-driven shooters at the time…
