Campaign features Halo 5 NEEDS

Many people I know feel Halo 4’s campaign lacked replay value and most of this was because of removed features.

Features missing from Halo 4:
-Campaign Scoring
-Carnage Report
-Campaign Theater
-Skulls*

Ideas on additional features:
-Campaign scoring leaderboards** (Global, Friends; Solo, Team)
-Campaign speed run leaderboards** (Global, Friends)
-Vidmaster style challenges that upon completion unlock specific in-game rewards

*Skulls were included in Halo 4, but in a very limited manner. For one, we were given the same lineup from several other halo games (3, ODST, and Reach). There was not one original skull nor any of the new one’s added in Anniversary. The skull lineup is something I would like to see 343i get creative with. I also believe skulls should be obtained and unlocked like Halo 2 and 3. They had a great role as easter eggs because due to their size they could be hidden almost anywhere.

**If you are in the top 10 for either leaderboard than Halo 5 automatically saves the film and uploads it alongside your time/score for all to download and watch. I have seen Doom on xbox live arcade with a similar feature.

I believe the inclusion of most or all these features would keep people playing Halo Xbox One’s campaign long after release and make the game overall a more enjoyable experience.

Also don’t forget these.

  • Sprint
  • Terminals
  • Challenges
  • Include Enemy Commendations into Campaign
  • Medal System
  • Great Story
  • Theater Mode
  • Campaign-Only Vehicles

I want to point out that NONE of what you stated are “Needed” features.

But they are features that shouldn’t be cut, let alone be screwed up like in Halo 4.

What Halo 5’s campaign needs, is:
A good length
A good story
Good characters
A good ending

Too many people throw the word “Need” around, like if the game is shipped with out it, the game is going to fail, and not make any sells.

The game can still function with out those features, they’re extra niceties, they’re not core elements to the game.

This thread is about features. Everything you said is in itself already defined in the definition of a video game campaign with the word good being completely subjective. Additional features give longevity to a game and allow a player to explore it better. None of these features would add effect to removing such things you desire.
