Campaign DLC Idea

I think if they were to do something like this, they can have the main character as The Arbiter and what happens to him after Halo 3. Supposedly he went back to his home world with the Ship Master (half-jaw) to make sure it was “safe”. Obviously it would not be and you would have to defend it. Enemies could be ex covenant species like brutes grunts, jackals, drones, and hunters looking for revenge on the elites or something.

they could just do a spin off like ODST but do it as the arbiters and shipmasters story NOW THAT WOULD BE AWSOME. a campain just playing as the arbiter

i couldnt ask for anything better.

I agree, I really enjoyed the fiction surrounding the Arbiter. It wouldn’t make much sense to include him in Halo 4 though, a spin-off (like ODST) would make alot more sense. I know I’d buy it if they made it!

  1. Halo isn’t really the series that lends itself well to make campaign DLC.

  2. The Arbiter’s story and that of the post-war UNSC will be continued in the books. Heck, Glasslands ends with an attack on Sanghelios.3. Why would the Grunts, Jackals and Hunters be attacking? A good number of grunts fought for the Elites and actually serve as laborers on Sanghelios while the majority of Hunters aided the Elites. The only reason it isn’t portrayed in Halo 3 is because Bungie didn’t want to confuse anyone. The Jackals don’t even care about the Covenant and probably never did, they are merely merchants and pirates now. The Brutes and Drones I can see, but only two enemies as an enemy for DLC? What’s the point?

I really hate how Bungie decided they don’t want to confuse us. The only way there can be problems is if a bunch of Grunts are fighting a bunch of Grunts without Brutes and Elites around. Then again I also hated how little spotlight Elites got. If some of the grunts stand by Brutes and are shooting at the other Grunts its pretty obvious that the other grunts are Elites allies.

So assuming Halo4 will focus on Master Chief on a foreign planet I doubt we will see much Elites I would really like the Elite DLC/ODST game

There doesnt have to be just 2 types of enemy. Both sides have Grunts, most Jackals can still be paid or forced to side with Brutes and then there are the Drinols and other scrapped enemies. So really it is

  • Elites
  • Hunters
  • Grunts
    vs
  • Brutes
  • Grunts
  • Jackals
  • Drones
  • Drinols and more

But IMO a better setting should be that Arbiter’s “armada” arrives on their home planet and they realize the Brutes had a plan of taking revenge on their planet if Truth’s plan goes bad.

First you have some ship-to-ship battles, then you land and defend Sanghelios, next Brutes free their secret weapon: Flood spores turning the place into a mess, the few remaining Brutes start to retreat towards their home planet and you follow as soon as the worst Flood containment is dealt with, then you follow Brutes to Doisac where you notice some Brutes are still anti-Covenant and are willing to ally with you, then you proceed to kill the bitter pro-Covenant leaders and credits roll.
