That would be an interesting feature, like a hybrid of Reach’s campaign Co-op with Halo 3’s or 5’s (different characters)
Just wish I could earn points towards the battle pass in campaign
More mision variet and overall more interesting level design, less reliance on the grappleshot, stronger vehicles, more biome, more interactive elements ex: longer day night cycle with changes to encounters, dynamic weather with gameplay impact like botw, prometheans redesigned and returned water + yohnet, engineers and gao engineers, more support heavy weapons like the flamethrower, blue team, coop only missions, terrible AI driving, better accommodation for vehicles in map design, more accents in the marines, conveyor belts, gravity volumes and other such map elements, better rewards for beating campaign challenges more story explanation on cortana and the didacts logic plague and connection via the domain. Warden eternal answers and re worked encounter. New hunter variants, scarabs, blister backs and Ai kraken, AI mammoth, mantis, Falcon and elephant. Odsts with a target designator equipment that can call orbital drops, pelican fire support and bombing runs as the unsc grows more powerful on the ring.
That for me is what infinite needs to be the game it was made out to be.
Might seem like too much to some but it is all things that are either basic design principles, in line with dev comments during the dev cycle and common enough features in competing franchises.
It is a tonne of work though and will take a long time to deliver especially given how light features and mp content is as well.
I love the grappleshot I agree with the longer day and night cycles
I love it also but when it’s always their it means designing around vehicles and smart jump geometry and unique verticality is stunted cause grapple is always the answer
I do think the Master Chief should be able to jump a little hire then he can currently and the shield upgrade need to be reworked even when it is fully upgraded the shield do not seem that strong to me I fell like the shields in Halo CE are stronger
Ya shield shred quite fast. My issue ain’t jump height though its how the grapple shot being infi ite and always available effect how levels are designed and encounters work
I would like to be able to start a new game when I finish the campaign instead of “Finishing the fight” and endlessly running all over just hunting enemy. When the game first was installed, I could, now it is gone.
I’d like to see random events in areas of the open world for example having a special drop ship that you need to shoot at to get it to drop like 4 bosses out from earlier in the campaign but all with lower health that you could fight all at once in the open for a chance at a random unlock example (weapon charm or something else from the store i would never spend money on). Maybe only playable after you have beaten campaign on legendary, obviously would be better with co-op campaign available.
Also definitely need campaign progression for the battle pass.
Definitely need better cosmetic unlocks ( armor for armor lockers
)
I need a reason to be exploring looking for banished to … banish, with my friends and the small RNG rewards could make the replay value better or at least offer some incentive for us to play with friends, like rewards for playing with friends for a certain amount of hours or missions.
And it could allow me to unlock some of the junk i would never purchase from a bundle which will lower the price of bundles in the future if i have some of the bundle already unlocked (because im sure they will update the store again - amiright ?).
… Or when they update the store again to allow you purchase items individually it will create a system to use the junk nobody will ever buy as rewards - that way all the hard work that went into making that fodder wouldn’t be in vain - and trust me it would make kids happy.
I’d like to see the campaign “overworld” integrated into an updated Firefight mode in the future. Made a thread about that here (https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/shower-thought-firefight-evolved/493456)
I’d like to see campaign expansions tie into the unlocked map area, for any that continue Chief’s story anyway.
I’d like to see the Marine AI expanded - taking your Marine buddies on story missions, for instance. Maybe the ability to issue commands to the Marines that join your “squad” so you can direct them in combat some.
Campaign challenges similar to MCC would be welcome as well.
I do not think the weapons are the problem, its just that the bosses are so frustrating on legendary.
I think the fights against Jega and the first one against Adjutant Resolution were fine. I did not have much problems with them and I actually enjoyed them. I had problems with Chak Lok and Bassus though. But Escharum and the Harbinger are the ones that made me rage the most, and they need to be reworked asap.
Those 2 are just badly designed in my opinion, and I believe they were not properly refined. I already wrote this before, but I will do that again:
Let’s start with Escharum. So, the fight starts with Escharum standing right in front of me. And he kills me so fast that I physically cannot grapple away to cover in time. I think I died like 20 times like that. I was sent back 2 checkpoints a couple of times too even. This part is entirely dictated by luck and it shouldn’t be that way.
And that wasn’t even the most tedious part. The whole fight after that is. I do not know how many times I circled the room just to avoid dying. And especially in the last phase. I died so many times that I honestly had enough and looked up on youtube how to beat him. And saw a video on how to glitch his AI on the last phase, by standing up on one of the pillars were Echo-216 is kept. After some tries, I got it right and killed him that way.
Then comes the Harbinger… and here, the main problem is with the Banished waves that come in between phases. Specifically, the last one with the Brute Chieftain. Let me tell you, this wave was total madness.
Basically, this Chieftain just rushes me non-stop. I actually threw SIX grenades at him, shot at him, and he STILL did not die. As soon as I tried to grapple away, I was sniped down by the Stalker snipers. Hello 343, what do you want me to do here? If I stood there, the Chieftain would have jumped at me and killed me. Gosh, this is was so frustrating. I died so many times on that phase. The Harbinger herself isn’t spongy, at least.
These 2 bosses are beyond frustrating. Basically, it comes down to circle around the room, circle, circle again, circle again ad nauseam, shoot a few bullets and pray you do not die, repeat. The whole process is so frustrating and boring.
That’s why i say weapons should do more damage and why they should have more ammo
2 weapon system and low weapon ammo encourages sandbox interaction
I do not need 2 weapon and low ammo system to encourage sandbox interaction Halo CE you had more than enough ammo and I used every weapon in the game despite that so i really hate when people use that as an argument
You aren’t the population though are you.
The argument is sound just because you have anbissue with it doesn’t negate that
The argument is not sound period the real reason for the low ammo is that stupid online PvP they determine everything from that witch sucks
IMO CE had the perfect sandbox ever of all time
Enemies should not respawn in areas you took control of.
-
ADD at least half a dozen new vehicles ( by new, that can mean Vehicles from Halo Wars ), Including the Halo 3 Prowler, A Hovering Warthog ( that can hover like a ghost and be viable over water as a substitute to a waterboat )
-
Flyable Pelicans
-
ODST support Via Drop-pods and ability to give squad commands to your marines
-
Infinity Defense mode where you have to defend different sections of the Infinity against the Banished in Firefight
-
Campaign design that is more in-tune with the AMAZING concept art of various Infinite concept artists. These people are BEYOND talented, but for some reason 343i doesn’t want to make or use a lot of the ideas they have which ended up on the cutting room floor
I was referring to the cinematography specifically and comparing it to other games that use a similar technique. along with the fact each one also captures action well with said cinematography.
