Me and my friend are downloading all the Halos, Halo Reach, Halo Mast Chief Collection, and Halo 5, and we are gonna play all of them in order, but we have been stuck on should we play on Heroic or Legendary? Tell me what you think. Is legendary unbeatable or a waste of time?
If you are playing Halo for the first time, I definitely would not recommend diving headlong into Legendary. Legendary mode is for those who are looking for a bit of a challenge. If you want to just experience the story then I would suggest Normal difficulty.
I mean, if you are tough enough you can try Heroic, some people say it adds more realism. But, as it was already said, Legendary is for those, who are in for some kicking arss.

I’d recommend starting on Heroic, especially if it’s going to be the two of you doing co-op. Heroic imo is the best way to play a halo game through as it provides enough challenge to keep it from getting dull, but enough breathing room to still have fun. I’ve been playing Halo since 2007, and have only beat Halo 3 on legendary. Legendary, i felt, was very trial and error like. A lot of dying and a lot of frustration. Hope you have fun on your Halo expedition :).
I’ve played all my life and I definently promote playing on a high difficulty. If it is your first time playing it then I recommend heroic. Otherwise I would pick legendary because it remains a challenge, but I can recall countless laughs me and my friends had whilst playing legendary because it keeps us playing for a longer time and it ultimately feels more satisfying in the end.

If its your first time playing Halo and you have played some shooter games before then I would start on Heroic then work you way up to Legendary once you find yourself comfortable. If you haven’t played any shooter games before then you might want to start on Easy, or Normal if you pick up games quickly.
Alot of people would recommend Legendary because you can get into some funny situations and find some skulls that unlock satisfying factors to the game. Grunt Birthday Party is my favorite skull which shoots confetti out of grunts heads when you headshot them.
Agreed with what most folks are saying. Heroic is a solid option to start. Definitely a Challenge and fun, but if you give it a bit of thought and think creatively, you will end up slaying Aliens no problem. Legendary takes time to get used to and is almost like playing another game. There is a steeper learning curve and each area/level starts to become like a puzzle in some ways. Its relentless at times too. You should give legendary a try at some point, beating it on legendary feels fantastic, a real achievement. Been playing halo since it came out for the original Xbox and have beaten Halo 1, 2, 3 and Reach, all on Legendary Difficulty. Cant wait to do it again on the PC XD.
