I beat Truth and Reconciliation and Silent Cartographer TWICE on LEGENDARY and it did not save the damn thing. What the hell!!! If this is how it’s gonna be 343, you’ve lost another Halo fan and customer. Fix ur -Yoink-.
Yep this game is broken with saving etc.
It didnt register any of my progress that I played with my mate on COOP live last night.

TBH, it doesn’t really matter if it doesn’t save if you’re going for the achievements. The achievements state that you need to “Complete every level on X difficulty”, not, “Complete the entire game on X difficulty”. If you just want to play the game then yes, you have a problem.

Living Legend 50
Complete every level of the game on Legendary difficulty.
How can I do this when I play COOP legendary and the game doesnt save/skips levels and I cant choose them from chapter selection (http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd272/sik_cvnt/IMG_0731.jpg)??

Oh, I seem to have misread the OP. I wouldn’t really know what to do; I play offline so I’ve done it solo and split screen where this glitch doesn’t happen. Sorry.
Similar thing happened to my friend. I was host, and he got his game completed at Legendary for all levels except “The Silent Cartographer”, which isn’t even listed in his level select.

Hey guys, so I have the same type of problem. What’s interesting is that I have been playing co-op with a freind on my xbox where I was signed in as first player and then he signed in as second player; naturally right. But that’s what is most curious. In order for him to play co-op, he enters campaign mode so that we are both in the “match” if I may, and then we play just fine. Though when we finished and I went back in later, I had no progress in any of the levels except the two I did solo before hand, and then the last one we did. The levels simply didn’t show up in my list which confused me. I then signed back in on my friends account, and looked as his where all of the levels and difficulties were recorded. So him being second player must have something to do with the problem not affecting him. Don’t know for sure. All I do know is that this is a really frustrating glitch and I hope 343 will look into it.
The same thing happened to me. I beat The Truth and Reconciliation and The Silent Cartographer on local split-screen, but according to the missions list it says I haven’t completed them. But I do have the achievements for completing those missions.
Went through about half the campaign after thanksgiving on split screen, none of it was saved, including skulls. I just got done playing first 3 levels on co-op over live, only 1st, 3rd, and 4th levels show up. It says I haven’t 1st level at all, 3rd was beaten on co-op legendary, and 4th level wasn’t started yet.
This save problem really needs to be fixed.
I completely agree. This is ridiculous. Is 343 even aware of the problem?!
Yep, this is pretty annoying. I have done 4 levels 3+ times on legendary and still don’t have a legendary symbol (or any symbol) next to two levels. I have noticed if I keep switching co-op partners it starts saving again, but if I don’t then it stops saving. Pretty annoying since I bought this game soley for the purpose of doing it co-op with friends.

Me and a friend played “Truth and Reconciliation” three times on legendary.
The first and second time I got the level registered on easy, but he didn’t get it registered at all.
After the third time the level registered on legendary for him, but still not for me. Instead, the next level (which I didn’t even start to play) registered on legendary. Extremely annoying!
At least I got the achievement for level completion.
But one qustion still remains:
Is only the level select screen glitched without affecting achievements?
Or is it impossible now to get the achievement for beating the whole game on legendary?
Because it’s really, really annoying to play the same level over and over again just trying to get the difficulty registered.
So can we just continue the game and still get all the legendary-related achievements?
I have this same problem, and as you can see by how old all these posts are, 343 is just ignoring the problem.
I beat the first 5-6 levels on Legendary, playing co-op with my brother, on LAN, I think using 2 consoles, but it may have been split screen, it was a while ago.
First night we signed off and logged in the next day to find he was missing credit for the 1st 2 levels, including skulls and terminals. Weird, but we just redid them and moved on, completed the first 5 or 6 levels, logged off.
Next day, I have no progress for levels 1-5, no skulls, no terminals. Still have all the achievements, but when I eventually beat the game on Legendary, it didn’t give me credit for “beating CEA on normal/heroic/legendary”. The game knows I’ve beaten the whole thing, since my Waypoint profile shows I’ve completed it all on Legendary (skulls and swords in the upper right), but it didn’t give me the achievement, and it says Campaign Co-op Progress 6/10.
tl;dr You are boned, no one is going to help you, and you will not get the game completion achievements. This game was a waste of $40.
