Campaign Difficulties

Do you think we’ll see different ones, instead of Heroic and Legendary, and if so, what would you like them to be called? Also, do you think we’ll still have the swords, shield, and Elite skull with the bullet hole in it, seeing as there’s going to be a new threat?

I think the names will stay the same, but it’s quite possible that the icons will change like they did for ODST.

Yeah, they most likely will, Heroic and Legendary fit Halo pretty well. I think the icons will change though, and I’m really interested to see.

I don’t see what’s wrong with Heroic and Legendary…

I would like a new one, I find the gap between heroic and normal too big, normal is easy but heroic occasionally too hard, so I would like it like this:

Easy: Watch as your enemies flee in terror of your might. The game basically plays itself.
Normal: Burn through tough enemies, but if you have enough ammo you will succeed.
Professional: Take it on like a pro. Fight hardened enemies, but pick the right path and the right weapons and the hoards will scatter.
Heroic: Be a hero. Play halo like it should be.
Legendary: Get ripped apart hundreds of times by the lowliest enemies there are. Then start level one.

I disagree, Heroic is a nice step up from Normal and is meant to be challenging at times. If you want a step up between the two difficulties, then turn on skulls. Having too many difficulty options just starts to get confusing.

I agree with your disagreement for the same reason. A difficulty between Normal and Heroic is just unecessary.

Don’t need anymore difficulties. 4 is enough.

A fifth difficulty would be nice. Easy, Normal, Heroic, Mythic, Legendary

Mythic takes the place of the old legendary, and the new legendary is on par with H2’s. That was just ridiculous.

Then there really wouldn’t be a difference between Mythic and Legendary. Legendary is just Legendary.

H2 on legendary was by far more difficult than any of the other games.

I would say Halo:CE legendary was harder than H2

Easy, Normal, Heroic, and Legendary they will probably stay the same.

I’d like to see a “Novel Difficulty,” version with damage and motion based on the Halo books.

I’d like my proposed Legendary difficulty, a proper step up from Heroic, a difficulty that preserves the best aspects from Heroic and Legendary: immersion, player efficiency, intelligence, AI numbers, upgrades for enemies, allies, and player.

The current Legendary is a numbing down of the player while giving vast advantages to the enemy. If this doesn’t change, I don’t think I’ll be playing on Legendary anymore.

Good reasoning since Heroic has the right AI, spawns, and numbers but Normal has the right strengths and durability. A mix of both would produce the most realistic difficulty and probably the most immersive one.

> A Noble difficulty that can still be a core difficulty would likely be a step up from Mythic and would impose some restrictions. In exchange for these restrictions, some skulls need to be turned off or it becomes an impossible difficulty.

It’ll probably be the same, it’s been consistent throughout the series.
