Campaign demo?

I believe that a campaign demo for Halo Infinite would serve the game well. People will no doubt be playing the multiplayer, but people who are looking forward to the campaign shouldn’t be discounted either. We are obviously getting a multiplayer flighting for Halo Infinite, but a campaign demo would only draw the game more attraction and interest. I know that Halo has never really had a campaign demo in the past, but I believe it makes sense for most likely the biggest Halo game in quite some time. Let’s keep in mind that the multiplayer is free to play. People will have no barrier of entry for multiplayer and people playing it is more than guaranteed. The campaign, on the other, hand, is not free to play. You will have to pay for this if you do not have gamepass. People may want to get just a taste of the part of the game they’ll actually be paying for, and a campaign demo would be a welcome feature.

It would be a wise decision.

It’s likely we’ll get a campaign demo at E3.

My feeling is actually the opposite re: a demo (at least pre-release). I think GamePass (especially with the ease of getting short trial subscriptions to ‘try out’ reduces the need for any ‘try before you buy’ - there are so many promotions out there still to get hold of Game Pass trial codes). Plus a huge part of Demos when they were ubiquitous was always about hype-building - it was very rarely part of a flighting or beta process. Infinite doesn’t need hype to be built, so I struggle to see what benefit a demo has when 343 already has an extensive free-to-sign-up-for Insider programme for flighting in the run up to release.

The benefit of flighting over a demo or even traditional Beta is that it’s so much

My sense is that the only campaign we’ll see before release will come in the form of gameplay demonstrations/trailers or through the flighting programme (probably under NDA to start with, but probably loosened up later on towards the end of October).

A demo is all about driving sales, but strategy-wise I’m not sure 343 are actually all that focussed on unit sales volume and a lot of the strategy will be encouraging people into Game Pass.

Post-release, perhaps they’ll look at some form of demo (maybe even tied into the Free-to-play MP?) with the first campaign level or similar to help convert F2P players to full game players and bring them into the wonderfully rich story of the franchise.

I think it’s a good idea. I always love it when a dev puts out a demo. Shows confidence in their product and gives them more positive reputation, at least from me.

See that’s where with Infinite I’d rather it’s done as part of a flight so it can be better used to help with any final remaining bugfixes/performance issues. A Demo is just something designed to drive sales and might be only showing us the most polished bit

dbout its going to happen because spoilers and mp will be ftp , so you can try the gameplay loop on mp.

Having part of the campaign in a flight would be really cool. I was thinking have a demo available after the game is actually done too so people can play it and decide if they want to buy it or not.

I think its a great idea to have the demo for release and afterwards who knows someone might find themselves delving into genres they didn’t think they would Demo’s always great for that kind of stuff Its how I stumbled into Mass effect 3 when it first released.

I definitely think we’ll see multiplayer gameplay at e3. I would love to see another campaign demo, but i wouldn’t count on that. What do you guys think? Are yall expecting a campaign demo?

I’m not expecting a campaign demo, but I think it will be a missed opportunity for 343i if they don’t show us a “then and now” comparison to last year’s campaign reveal.

I could definitely see that. At least a short trailer hopefully

If they were to give a campaign demo, it would either be the first mission, or just dropping us in Zeta Halo with a handful of side quest stuff to do. Personally, I don’t want any of the story stuff in there for the sake of dataminers. Don’t want any more revealed than what 343 wants to show off in terms of the campaign.

Man I just want to avoid everything and just take in the world. I’d love a campaign demo

A campaign demo would help with feedback for this final stretch; tons of QA is good and all but getting public criticism thrown at the game, even if a lot of it is worthless, can still be fruitful.
The game’s still got a ways to go if the rumors of it launching in November for the 20th anniversary hold any water (and I believe they do), so there’s plenty of time for more tweaking and fiddling.

I think everyone who gets the FTP version should have a demo/trial version of the first level with the download. If it is always available and accessible to the FTP market then you (as a company) always have a “hook” out there to get someone interested to buy your game. As most of us know the multiplayer isnt really like the campaign, they have two different feels
