Campaign demo interview

ok I just read a interview and 343i made it clear that the game demo was pre release version probably couple months old which would explain some of the rough edges like the pop in when u go up that elevator but overall game looks fun im really excited about infinite i have good vibes about it
https://www.videogameschronicle.com/features/interviews/halo-infinite/

People really like to assume a demo was made on the exact day it was shown. They prepare this stuff in months advance, remember this was probs supposed to be shown at E3 and the demo was made months beforehand

Exactly glad someone has common sense around here

“Halo Infinite is still very much in development. The team is very focussed on bringing the best experience possible to fans and we still have a ways to go. So this is definitely a pre-release version of the game that folks are seeing today.”

Everyone needs to calm down.

Very detailed interview. Thank you for sharing. I wish this was all mentioned in some capacity in the demo because a lot of concerns people have are covered within. One significant bit for me was reading how 343i will be continuing to tell Master Chief stories for years to come. I am very glad 343i, Xbox, and MS have decided to embrace Chief as the face of the franchise (and Xbox itself really) over the past couple of years rather than try to make it someone or something else.

I think it is best to avoid the polarized sentiments of total love and total hate based on the demo and play the game on launch day (Game Pass ensures no one has to invest in making an immediate purchase) to see whether or not 343i has followed through on their promises. One thing is for sure though - the demo does not tell the full story.

I hope that they can still tell some stories with other characters too though, even if it must be in a spin-off title or a side-mode (Like SpartanOps did. I actually kinda miss Thorne - for a IV he actually behaved a whole lot like the II’s we all know and love. Even Halsey seemed to half-respect him)
I was thrilled to see Blue Team reunited and then was almost crushed when I saw they’d be leaving again :frowning:

Well, as long as they’re alive I guess that’s all I can hope for, at least for now. Here’s to hoping they reunite with John again in the future!

Oh yeah, totally agreed. I still want to see those characters as well! I came to love Blue Team immediately after reading the first story about them. The 4 of them together just fits, you know? Their personalities, their abilities, they complete each other exactly like a squad should.

If 343 really wrote them out of Infinite to run with the “Focusing on John” thing then that’s kinda unfortunate - they can still focus on him while keeping his team around. I mean… Look at “Silent Storm” and “Oblivion” - he had a team through the majority of those books and it says right there on the cover A Master Chief Story. It can still all be about John while also having his family around with him.

I guess, we’ll have to wait to see that day come again :frowning:
Just hoping that they survived the novel that leads up to Infinite. Still, maybe it’d be like Reach? Where we had Noble Team yes, but we weren’t ALWAYS WITH THEM at all times. Slim chance to be sure, but hey - maybe?

I was just about to post this article haha. Good that we basically have confirmation that what we got is indeed an old build…but that leaves the question on what will see next?

Yeah, I can’t imagine we won’t see some other characters considering the game will take place on a Halo ring! I think 343i knows we love Blue Team, so it would be a missed opportunity if they don’t at least get a cameo of sorts.

If I had to take a wild and I mean WILD GUESS, I think we might have gotten something different today if not for the global pandemic.

HW2 looked like this (a cartoon, more spyro and ratchet and clank than HW1) in gameplay, looked like this in the demo, we told them it was horrible, yet it looked like this also in the final game.

Yup, people tend to forget that tiny fact that 343i are still working from home on Infinite because of the covid 19 situation.

Thank you for sharing this. Interesting stuff.

the only thing that gave me worry was the brutes facial graphics. but that can be “easily fixed” with textures enachment right ? the animation itself was great though. It all looked like logical and anatomically correct

alanah pearce said its a early build i believe 6 to 7 months

Exactly, it’s funny how hell bent people are on supporting their, “Halo is doomed,” narrative. They are so convinced that 343 are in trouble and screwing up, it’s almost as if they want them to fail. Some people really can’t accept the possibility of this actually being an old -Yoink- build meant for E3 lol. The best part about this is when they decide to show the final build, people will notice they’ve made leaps and bounds. I bet most of the people throwing a temper tantrum are going to buy the game for some reason anyways down the road
