Campaign could use some biome variation

I feel that the campaign is rather in need of more biomes, and since 343 apparently haven’t got any plans for a DLC expansion with more varied environments, that leaves just the existing campaign…

This suggestion may not be very popular, but I think 343 should just change parts of the campaign to be different biomes. It may be a bit jarring to play campaign and have some areas look different from the usual, but I really think the added variety will help the campaign’s replay value, at least a little bit.

On the actual implementation, I think the most suitable way to lessen the “weirdness” of having such different looking terrain be so close to each other would be to only have the biome changes occur where there can be some separation. For example, right after Chak Lok’s Tower is a metal bridge connecting the first area to the next one. This bridge would act as a transition between the two landmasses, so if the first area is the normal grassy field, the one on the other side would be, say, desert-y, with the bridge in between to help make the sudden change a little less odd.

Well, that’s my suggestion. It could definitely use some refining, but I think it’s worth the possibly jarring transitions and diverse ‘climates’ and such to get some proper biome variety in Infinite’s campaign.

All campaign people got laid off so there’s no one at the studio left to do this, and even if there were it doesn’t make any economical sense because it won’t generate any new income. It’s done and left to rot.

I do agree, alas campaign ain’t getting no love, won’t even get falcon or new weapons, it really sucks as I love campaign just as much as mp, won’t even get anything added to the barren, empty parts of the map either.

It amazes me that with the amount of cut content there was from campaign, it needed biomes

Campaign was rushed and you can tell from it’s repeating landscapes to fill in gaps. As others have said with the lay offs the other week, most of the campaign team went so it’s pretty much multiplayer from now on.

Hmm, yes, that is true. However, I don’t think they actually need the campaign team just to do a bit of biome swapping. The real obstacle is the ‘economical value’ you mentioned…because despite how much 343 claimed they were “coming at this with a player-first mentality”, we’ve quite clearly seen that this just isn’t the case.

That said, many people still care about the campaign, and 343 making updates to it, even small ones, could keep people interested and may even lead to a few more sales/renewed Game Pass subscriptions.

Ha ha…out of everything 343 could have left out of the campaign, I don’t think ANYONE would have ever considered biomes to be one of them!

343 may not care as much about the campaign, but I think if the community presses them (in a non-“toxic” manner, obviously) maybe they will at least add some of the new weapons, and even vehicles, to the campaign.

@Invoked_by_Red Yes, that is plain to see and it’s really sad. This campaign had so much potential that may never be realised because of 343’s questionable decisions. And do you remember that they might have actually been planning to launch the campaign in 2021?! I can only imagine what on Earth, or the Halo ring, the campaign would have looked like then…
