This really sucks for there to be no coop campaign at launch but honestly 3 months isnt too bad of a wait. Im sure alot of people will already be done or close to completing the main story line by then and perhaps do it again with other side missions with friends. Thats what im most likely gunna be doing so i dont think its a deal breaker personally. What do you guys think?
whatttttt…
Don’t be part of the problem with the industry. Stop defending this crap, please.
I’m sad for those that are upset and will miss it, but it doesn’t bother me personally. I usually play the game solo due to me and my friends having terrible playing schedules. It took me and a friend about 3 months to beat Gears of War 5 co-op.
It makes sense why they aren’t having it in, I imagine trying to co-op cross gen with all different settings could be an issue. I don’t know many games that have had this. Maybe there are some, must be difficult.
I pretty much just play halo co-op so regardless of what they do at this point, I’m just going to buy the game when it supports co-op campaign play. As far as I’m concerned they did announce a 2022 delay today. I’ll just need to dodge spoilers for a while.
Really did not see this coming. They never even hinted that it was ever an issue or concern. I legitimately thought Joe and Brian were joking at first and I had to rewatch it lol I had a Sgt Johnson “SAY WHAT!?” moment.

The problem with the industry is crunching and then releasing broken things. 343’s approach is by far preferable: identify features which, while important, are not 100% day one essential to a large section of the playerbase, and deprioritise to ensure the rest of launch goes smoothly and that when those features do release they are at the right standard.
If today’s announcement had instead been ‘the game is delayed until 2022 because Forge and Co-Op campaign might not work right’, there’d have been a riot of people for whom those things, while important and appreciated, are not 100% critical to the day one enjoyment experience.
